AboundingGrace

Romans 3:23

for all sinned (past tense)

Two bible translations before the kjv, the bishops and Geneva versions, add the word "are" to make the correct sense of the rest of the verse.

Bishops: and are destitute of the glory of God

Geneva: and are deprived of the glory of God

the phrase in the kjv with the word "have" makes the reader think that "have" goes with the last part of the verse. "for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." The idea is that, yes, all sinned, but also, all continue to fall short and are continually lacking of God's glory. I don't know what the kjv translators intended here. But it is the present tense, we continually fall short of God's glory.

Can’t find Quiznos quote for the moment concerning “paste tense” usage. I’ll copy and paste it when I find it or happy to have Quiznos repost it

Moondim states "Walls of Scripture doesn't make YOU tight."

So what is it that makes us "tight" in the truth if we do not post Scripture to support truthful view?

So I take it your not "tight' in the "light" of the truth in Scripture and need to change your name to Moondim?
