It is still unclear whether animals were also food in the 1600 years before the flood. Since why would Abel own **FLOCKS OF ANIMALS** and bring to the Lord fat portions from some of the firstborn animals which was the only offering the Lord accepted and refused the offering of Cain's plants in Genesis 4:1-5.
