This thread ties in with my other one called New Heaven and New Earth or New Covenant? After reading this thread , try and answer the question above. This is a two fold question as you will see. There are aspects of the Jewish wedding celebration that are rich in spiritual truths.This ancient ritual PROPHETICALLY points to the coming of the Messiah and the great celebration of the marriage supper of the Lamb. Genesis 2:18 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.Proverbs 18:22 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)22 Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing and obtaineth favour of the Lord.In ancient times, the father of the groom often selected a bride (kallah) for his son, as did Abraham for his son Isaac (Genesis 24:1-4). In ancient times, marriage was looked upon as more of an alliance for reasons of survival or practicality. The concept of romantic love remained a secondary issue.
Of course, the consent of the bride-to-be is an important consideration. Rebecca (Rivkah), for example, was asked if she agreed to go back with Abraham’s servant to marry Abraham’s son, Isaac. SHE WENT WILLINGLY. (Genesis 24:57–59).Likewise, WE CANNOT BE FORCED into a relationship with the Son, Yeshua (Jesus).In the same way that Rebecca was asked if she would go with Abraham’s servant, the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh) asks us if we are willing to FOLLOW Him to be joined in a COVENANT of love with Yeshua.For Example:Traditionally, in preparation for the betrothal ceremony, the bride (kallah) and groom (chatan) are separately immersed in water in a ritual called the mikvah, which is symbolic of spiritual cleansing.In Matthew 3:13–17, we read that Yeshua has already been immersed (baptized) by Yochanan (John) in the waters of mikvah at the Jordan River.As the Bride-to-be, we are also asked to be immersed.Mark 16:16 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.After the immersion, the couple entered the huppah (marriage canopy)—symbolic of a new household being planned, to establish a binding contract. He could come earlier. Remember: that where I am, there ye may be also. At this time, the groom, with much noise, fanfare and romance, carried the bride home. Once again, the bride and groom would enter the huppah, recite a blessing over the wine (a symbol of joy), and finalize their vows.Now finally, they would consummate their marriage and live together as husband and wife, fully partaking of all the duties and privileges of the covenant of marriage
Although in ancient times, the wedding feast (seudah) after the nissuin might have included seven full days of food, music, dancing and celebrations (Judges 14:10–12), The Marriage Supper of the Lamb“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the NEW JERUSALEM, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a BRIDE beautifully dressed for her husband.” (Revelation 21: 1–2)Judah, the house that was divorced from Yahweh.
Jeremiah 33:15 In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute JUDGEMENT and RIGHTEOUSNESS in the land. 16 In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the NAME wherewith she shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
17 For thus saith the Lord; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel; 18 neither shall the priests the Levites want a man before me to offer burnt offerings, and to kindle meat offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.
One of my favorite quotes from William Tyndale , martyr and bible translator in the dark ages:"Marriage was ordained for a remedy and to increase the world and for the man to help the woman and the woman the man, with all love and kindness".
Now let me posit this second question.:
After reading the above history and corresponding verses. do you think that a newly betrothed couple should seek a state marriage license? Especially now with our laws so corrupt and most churches being 501c3?

"Tell us, they said, "{Question #1} When will this happen, and {Question #2} what will be the sign of your Coming and the **END** of the age?"
The **PRETERISTS** like KJVonly believe this was only 1 Question??
The Mount of Olives Prophecies and answers to these 2 questions by Jesus are in Matthew 24 and 25 Mark 13 and Luke 21. However the answer to Question {#1} as to when the Temple will be completely destroyed in **AD 70 IS ONLY ANSWERED IN LUKE 21:20-24** below when Jesus warns His saints to flee to the mountains, and Matthew 24:34 only confirms that the Temple and Jerusalem will be destroyed within a generation and they were in AD 70. Everything else in the Mount of Olives Prophecies in Matthew 24,25, Mark 13 and Luke 21 relates on what will happen in the 1260-day Great Tribulation just before the glorious Second Coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!! and Matthew 25:31-46 tells of the judgment of all the saved and lost on the Last Day of the planet earth!
Luke 21:20-24: Jesus prophesied, "When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its destruction is near {In AD 70}. Then let those in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the city get out and let those in the countrynot enter the city. For this is the time of punishment in fulfillment of all that has been written {See Daniel 9:26}... Ther will be great distress in the land against this people. They {The Jews} will fall by the sword and will be taken as prisoners to all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. {This prophecy was **FULFILLED** when the Jews took over East Jerusalem on May 14th, AD 1948 and completed when the Jews took over West Jerusalem form the Jordanian Gentiles on June 7th AD 1967 almost 1900 years later!
All of the other prophecies by Jesus in the Mount of Olives prophecies in Matthew 24 and 25, Mark 13 and Luke 21 refer to Question #2 "What will be the sign of your coming and the end of the age? will be completed by the 42-month {See Rev 13:4-10 below} Great Tribulation just before the Second Coming of Jesus on the Last Day when all of his saints will be resurrected and receive their new heavenly bodies immediately followed by the resurrection of the Lost and Judgement Day in Matthew 25:31-46
**SUCH AS** Matthew 24:9-13 which prophesies the great falling away at the beginning of the Great Tribulation of many in the church when they will be hated by **ALL** the nations of the world followed by the prophecy by Jesus in Matthew 24:14 that the Goispel must be preacxhed to **ALL** the nations of the world before the End will come. By AD 70 the Gospel had only been preached to those nations in the Roman Empire!
The **PRETERISTS** like KJVonly believe that all of the following events took place in AD 70 ????
In Matthew 24:3,9-13: The disciples asked Jesus, “What will be the sign of your Coming and the end of the age?? Jesus answered….. {During the 42-month Great Tribulation} “Then *YOU* will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and *YOU will be hated by **ALL NATIONS** **BECAUSE OF ME**. At that time many will turn away from the Faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of *MOST will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the **END** will be saved.”
Rev 13:4-10: Men worshiped the dragon {Satan} because he had given authority to the Beast {666} and they also worshiped the beast and asked, “Who is like the Beast? Who can make war against him?” The Beast will exercise his authority for 42 {30-day} months {1260 days}, He will be given authority over **EVERY** tribe, people, language and **NATION**. All inhabitants of the earth will worship the Beast--all whose names have not been written in the **LAMB'S** Book of Life. Whoever has ears let him hear: "If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity they will go. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword he will be killed." This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of God's saints!
Matthew 24:14: Jesus prophesied, "And this Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in the **WHOLE WORLD** as a testimony to **ALL NATIONS** and **THEN the **END will come!"
Matthew 24:29-31: Immediately after the distress of those {1260} days the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light and the **STARS WILL FALL** from the sky! {Luke 21:28 adds "When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near!"} Then will ***APPEAR*** the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. and then all the {Unsaved} peoples of the earth will mourn when the see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a loud {7th & Last} trumpet call, and the will gather **HIS ELECT** from the 4 winds, from one end of heavens to the other!" {Mark 13:27 adds "From the ends of the earth!"}
Matthew 25:31-34,41,46: Jesus prophesied, "When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, He will sit on His glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before Him, an He will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates his sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on His right and the goats on His left. **THEN** the King will say to those on his right. Come, you are blessed by My Father ; take your inhreritance , the Kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world... "Then He will say to those on His left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared fror the Devil and his angels....**THEN** they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life!"
And so the only supposedly good Preterist verses in Mark 9:1 and Matthew 24:34 actually do not prove the Preterist belief and there are over 40 versus in God's Word which totally contradict the Preterist belief!
Ay honest Bible scholar will admit that none of the above events took place in AD 70 and must take place in the **FUTURE**. And therefore the Preterist belief that all the above events took place in AD 70 is completely ridiculous!

Therefore, since we are receiving a *KINGDOM* that can not be shaken let us be thankful...for our God is a consuming fire!
2 Peter 3:10-13: But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will DISAPPEAR with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and *EVERYTHING* in it will be burned up . Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you {**CHURCH SAINTS*} wait eagerly for the Day of God to come. That Day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth. People who say such things show they are looking for a country of their own. If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were looking for a BETTER COUNTRY--a HEAVENLY ONE. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a *CITY* (The *NEW JERUSALEM*} for them!!
Galatians 4:25,26: Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children. But the **JERUSALEM** that is **ABOVE** is free, and she is our MOTHER !!
The New Jerusaem is described in Revelation 21:9 to Revelation 22:5. The New Jerusalem will be 12,000 stadia long, high and wide as per Revelation 21:16. A stadia is 606 feet long which is the exact same length as the ancient Greek stadium. 606 feet times 12,000 equals 7,272,000 feet which is 1377 miles plus 1,440 feet. A mile is exactly 5,280 feet. {1377 times 5,280 feet equal 7,270,560 feet.} And so the New Jerusalem will be exactly 1377 miles plus 1,440 feet long, wide and high!!
Revelation 21:9-12,15-16,19,23,27; Revelation 22:1-6: The angel said to John, “Come, I will show you the Bride the Wife of the Lamb.” And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from from God It shone like the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel. It had a great high wall {1377 miles plus 1,440 feet HIGH!} with 12 gates, and with 12 angels at the gates.
The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the City, its gates and its walls. The City was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the City with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia {A Stadia is exactly 606 feet} in length, and as wide and high as it is long. {1377 miles plus 1,440 feet long, wide and high} The wall was made of Jasper, and the City of pure gold, as pure as glass. The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone....... The great street of the City was of pure gold, like transparent glass...... Only those written in the Lamb's Book of Life will be able to enter the New Jerusalem!
Revelation 22:1-5: Then the angel showed me the river of the Water of Life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and the Lamb {Jesus} down the middle of the great street of the City. On each side of the river stood the Tree of Life, bearing 12 crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month... The throne of God and of the **LAMB** will be in the City, and his servants will serve Him. They will see His face and His name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night!! They will not need the light of the lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign **FOR EVER AND EVER**. The angel said to me, “These words are TRUSTWORTHY and TRUE!!” {**DID THIS TAKE PLACE IN AD 70**??}
JESUS WILL WRITE ON US THE NAME OF THE CITY OF GOD THE **NEW JERUSALEM**!!
Revelation 2:18; 3:12,21: Jesus says, "To him who overcomes I will give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it... I will write on him the name of the City of My God, the **NEW JERUSALEM**, which is coming down out of heaven from My God....And I will give the right to sit with Me on My throne, just as I overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne."
According to Revelation 22:3 the only 2 thrones in the **NEW JERUSALEM** will be the thrones of the **FATHER** and of the **LAMB** Jesus Christ.
And the Preterist has **TAKEN ALL OF THE ABOVE WORDS AWAY FROM THE PROPHECIES IN REVELATION!!

Is it a literal kingdom? With a temple made by man with a Ruler on the throne ?
Or is it is spiritual heavenly kingdom?
Is not our bodies the temple?
So this kingdom is not of this world then , correct?
But IN the world because we are the body of Christ, correct?

Ummmm KJO, read the context of the verses below and see if any of it is spiritual in meaning and has taken place in 70AD. OR is it obviously physical and yet to be fulfilled?
John 18:36 "Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence."
John 14:2,3 "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." 3. "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
Revelation 21:1,2 and 4 "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea." 2. "And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband." 4. "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."
Would not Yah"shua servents fight for His kingdom if it was of that world when He was suppose to return in 70AD? How could they lose the fight? Is it because they did not teach the truth that He was the Messiah and so He let them be destroyed by the Romans?
Does not the place He goes to prepare indicate its not on this earth? Are there mansions here for all His Saints? Is there still crying going on today? Do you ever cry? I do and the end time prophecy says we will STOP crying! Do you have pain? I do! The prophecy says there will be no more pain in the holy city and new flat earth!

I think we can go overboard by creating controversy using the Bible. One thing I've learned over the years is NONE of us get it all right. Even when it comes to things like doctrine. Sometimes we don't know, and it's okay. That's why we keep learning and growing. It's always better to focus on what we understand and have in common with other believers, than use it as a showdown to see who can beat who over the head with what they know. Always use this question as a measuring stick:
Is what I am doing bringing me closer to God?
If the answer is "yes", then keep doing it. If the answer is "no", then what's the point?

Mark 1:15 - And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God IS at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Hebrews 12:26-28: God says, "Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens. The words "once more" indicate the removing of what can be shaken--that is created things--so that what cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a **KINGDOM CAN NOT BE SHAKEN** let us be thankful...for our God is a consuming fire!
2 Peter 3:10-13: But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will DISAPPEAR with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and *EVERYTHING* in it will be burned up . Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind what kind of people ought you to be? Galatians 4:25,26: Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children. But the **JERUSALEM** that is **ABOVE** is free, and she is our MOTHER !!
The New Jerusaem is described in Revelation 21:9 to Revelation 22:5. The New Jerusalem will be 12,000 stadia long, high and wide as per Revelation 21:16. A stadia is 606 feet long which is the exact same length as the ancient Greek stadium. 606 feet times 12,000 equals 7,272,000 feet which is 1377 miles plus 1,440 feet. A mile is exactly 5,280 feet. {1377 times 5,280 feet equal 7,270,560 feet.} And so the New Jerusalem will be exactly 1377 miles plus 1,440 feet long, wide and high!!
Revelation 21:9-12,15-16,19,23,27; Revelation 22:1-6: The angel said to John, “Come, I will show you the Bride the Wife of the Lamb.” And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from from God It shone like the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel. It had a great high wall {1377 miles plus 1,440 feet HIGH!} with 12 gates, and with 12 angels at the gates.
The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the City, its gates and its walls. The City was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the City with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia {A Stadia is exactly 606 feet} in length, and as wide and high as it is long. {1377 miles plus 1,440 feet long, wide and high} The wall was made of Jasper, and the City of pure gold, as pure as glass. The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone....... The great street of the City was of pure gold, like transparent glass...... Only those written in the Lamb's Book of Life will be able to enter the New Jerusalem!
Revelation 22:1-5: Then the angel showed me the river of the Water of Life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and the Lamb {Jesus} down the middle of the great street of the City. On each side of the river stood the Tree of Life, bearing 12 crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month... The throne of God and of the **LAMB** will be in the City, and his servants will serve Him. They will see His face and His name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night!! They will not need the light of the lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign **FOR EVER AND EVER**. According to Revelation 22:3 the only 2 thrones in the **NEW JERUSALEM** will be the thrones of the **FATHER** and of the **LAMB** Jesus Christ.
And the Preterist has **TAKEN ALL OF THE ABOVE WORDS AWAY FROM THE PROPHECIES IN REVELATION!!
