surrendering to Christ

Hello everyone:

I would like to know if anyone knows of just one verse of Scripture which says that a person has to BE FULLY SURRENDERED TO CHRST, in order to be a believer in Him the Messiah Yeshua.

Let me see if I can rewrite the Word of GOD Almighty in order to create a new translation , hmmmmmmmmmm

John 3:3

Jesus answered and said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is FULLY SURRENDERED,he cannot see the kingdom of God.

John 3:7

Do not be amazed that I said to you, You must be FULLY SURRENDERED

John 3:14-18

As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up;

John 3:15

so that whoever IS FULLY SURRENDERED will have eternal life.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever IS FULLY SURRENDEREDin Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

John 3:17

For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be FULLY SURRENDERED IN Him.

John 3:18

He who FULLY SURRENDERED in Him is not judged; he who does not FULLY SURRENDER has been judged already, because he has not FULL SURRENDERED in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

GEORGE STATES:In order for Yeshua to save me,do I need to surrender, drinking beer and wine. How about smoking substances. What about staying up late watching movies, the kung fu style. How about doing drugs( prescription) of course. Will any of these keep Yeshua from saving me, ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Sorry George but YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY WRONG AND IN SERIOUS SPIRITUAL ERROR in your assumptions!!!

I suppose my first question to you is HAVE YOU EVER REPENTED OF YOUR SINS BEFORE GOD? If YOU HAVE NOT REPENTED OF YOUR SINS, then I do understand why you ask such questions and assume things that are NOT OF GOD, and why you THINK not as a BORN AGAIN BELIEVER, BUT AS A PERSON WHO THINKS HE KNOWS GOD BETTER THAN ANYONE, YET YOU CONTINUE IN YOUR UNREPENTANT SINS... AND THINK that you can do as you please and still be accepted by God through Jesus Christ as being SAVED AND BORN AGAIN WITHOUT REPENTANCE OF YOUR SINS (SURRENDERING OR GIVING UP YOUR OLD SIN NATURE TO GOD). I also feel this is why you are NOT understanding what all this means because you JUST MIGHT BE TOO HIGH ON DRUGS OR ALCOHOL TO COMPREHEND...:goofball:

Following Jesus means SUBMITTING TO HIM, and when you have SUBMITTED (SURRENDERED OR GIVEN UP) to Him your OLD ways this means you have REPENTED OF YOUR SINS BEFORE HIM and have TURN AWAY FROM ALL THOSE THINGS THAT SEPARATE YOU FROM HIM in your spirit, mind, behavior and conduct. This also will means that you no longer are involved in those worldly things you have in your questions, drinking, drugging, etc. Watching movies that do not corrupt your mind and carry you away from God is fine, but its those movies that will cause you to TURN AWAY from God that are not good for the eyes and mind. Calling Jesus "Yeshua" doesn't make you close to God or born again, Yehoshua is Christ's HEBREW NAME, and God isn't impressed by you calling Jesus YEHOSHUA, NOR DOES IT MEAN YOU ARE A BORN AGAIN BELIEVERS IN JESUS CHRIST... in fact in Matthew chapter 1, God says His name shall be called EMMANUEL, so calling Jesus by His Hebrew names or whatever name means nothing to Him... calling Jesus by His Hebrew names, Aramaic names, or in the Greek or whatever language you call him Jesus Christ IS NOT ABOUT YOUR SALVATION...ONLY, ONLY WHEN YOU CAN CALL HIM LORD AND SAVIOR OF YOUR LIFE...

Drinking a glass or two of wine is NOT A SIN, God teaches us that DRUNKENNESS IS THE CAUSE OF SIN. We are told in Ephesians chapter 5: 8 Dont be drunk with wine, which will ruin your life, but be filled with the Spirit. Getting high on any kind of drugs or alcohol is a sin because it TURNS your mind away from being close to GOD. Read Revelation chapter 21:8, in this you will find a final word about who is not saved in the kingdom...

When we are truly Born Again (WHICH MEANS, SURRENDERED, GIVEN-UP, OR SUBMITTED) in Jesus Christ, We have freedom now, because Christ made us free when we SUBMIT (SURRENDER TO HIM) by REPENTING OF OUR SINS BEFORE HIM, so that you might be FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT, THIS IS WHAT JESUS WAS TEACHING IN JOHN 3.

Did you not KNOW, have you not HEARD , have you not READ... FOR IT IS WRITTEN: So I tell you, live the way the Spirit leads you. Then you will not do the evil things your sinful self wants. The sinful self wants what is against the Spirit, and the Spirit wants what is against the sinful self. They are always fighting against each other, so that you dont do what you really want to do. But if you let the Spirit lead you, you are not under law. The wrong things the sinful self does are clear: committing sexual sin, being morally bad, doing all kinds of shameful things, worshiping false gods (including your own self), taking part in witchcraft, hating people, causing trouble, being jealous, angry or selfish, causing people to argue and divide into separate groups, being filled with envy, GETTING DRUNK OR HIGH ON DRUGS, having wild parties, and doing other things like this. I warn you now as I warned you before: The people who do these things WILL NOT have a part in Gods kingdom.... Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified their sinful self. They have given up their old selfish feelings and the evil things they wanted to do. We get our new life from the Spirit, so we should follow the Spirit. We must not feel proud and boast about ourselves. We must not cause trouble for each other or be jealous of each other, THUS, SAYS THE LORD GOD OF ISRAEL!

Bless you Ella,

That was very well put, there definitely must be full repentance (turning from sin and towards God) as well as surrendering all to Jesus and a new birth in the Spirit, to be assured of inheritance as a child of God.

I think one of Georges' problems is that he takes a statement by Jesus like '...Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.'(Jn 3:3) and he thinks that Jesus means this is the only thing that you need.

It's like if I say 'Unless you have a passport you cannot travel abroad' Of course you also need a ticket and money and luggage etc...

Jesus meets people at their need, Nicodemus needed to know about being born again (Jn 3), The young man was ready to accept Jesus in Mt 10:17-27, but Jesus realized he needed to know about forsaking his worldly treasures 'It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.'

Hi Ella,

So then my salvation depends upon what I am able to do, like submit, turn from sin and sinful behaviours, no drugs, no beer, hmmmmmmmmmmm

sounds very much like works salvstion to me, No mention of Grace thru faith.

I would rather take the Grace thru faith route which leads to life, then the works , which leads to ruin.

Shalom

Have a good day

George, Brother, you have some spirit of dissension in you, I believe you need deliverance!

From your last post 'I would rather take the Grace thru faith route which leads to life, then the works , which leads to ruin.'

I guess it's sarcasm, but it really sounds strange Brother!

I honestly have never heard a Christian talk the way you do!

You seem think you can carry on in your sin and still be saved through Gods Grace, I'm sorry but that is not the Gospel message Brother!

I Suggest you read Romans Chapter 6 several times and then fall to your knees before your God before 'surrendering' to him. Then you will be given a clean heart that will detest sin of any kind.

Be loved, with all the love of God George.

Quote from CarlAHartwell:

"Please explain to me what you think Jesus means when he says 'lose his life for my sake'?"

==================================

Is it possible that it's a reference to abiding to the practices of the Sect of Nazarenes, in the face of death; in light that the pagan worshipers of the Triune god were killing off Yahweh's children?

I didn't answer a question. I asked a question. That curly little punctuation mark, at the end of my sentence, provides a telling clue.

Surrendering to Christ is humbling!!!

Triple apologies are required with some clarification...

I've been taught that when quoting a person it is best to quote all of that statement.

I stated ~ Thats what false teachers do...They post the same teachings on multiple threads so they are sure to be heard and as well as seen...Thanks for the verification...

I apologize to HarkPlease forgive me

1 ~ for assuming you are a false teacher. That is not True. You are not a teacher.

I apologize to My LORD, the Brethren, the readers and myselfPlease forgive me

2 ~ for forgetting to set the Auto Ignore feature thus causing myself to stumble miserably and setting a very poor example for all here by allowing myself to be yanked in by a yankerhttp://www.thefreedictionary.com/yanker

I apologizeto My LORD YHVH, Yahshua aka JESUS, The HolySpirit and lastly myselfPlease forgive me

3 ~ for my own stupidity for engaging this Hark person a 3rd time...I will assure you My LORD it will not happen againThank you for Forgiving me, Loving me and most Importantly for Your SON and what He Has Done for me as well as others !!! :)

May GODs Sovereign Grace, Mercy and Blessings Abide and Abound...ForEver !!!
