So I was reading Genesis today, and I wrote down a question that I've had for some time.

God created Adam first. He then created Eve. Eve was the one that was deceived first and ate the apple. When God cursed Eve, He said that Adam would rule over her.

I see the way women are treated in some parts of the world (I'm not saying that God is pleased with that by any means). I see how women get cheated on in marriage and how the obsession with beauty and perfection in the world (or in US especially) cheats many women out of being noticed at all. Men get paid more, men are leaders in the church, men are head of the family, etc.

I am not saying by any means that a woman's life is harder than a man's. LIFE itself is hard, whether you're male or female. I'm also not implying that all men are evil nor am I holding up a huge women's rights flag. I've seen women treat good men like dirt and cheat on them--and there are many of them out there, some I know personally.

All I'm saying is, as a woman, a lot of times I feel like a second wheel. I wonder, big picture wise, how woman is viewed in the eyes of God? Maybe this is a selfish or even sinful question, but:

Is woman considered less important than man in God's eyes?

I don't want to be more powerful than man.

I just want to be as special in the eyes of God as man is.

My point was that she could not have known that satan was deceiving her just as Adam could not have known that she was deceiving him.

She didn't know evil, so she didn't know what it was to be told a lie. So, she had to have trusted what satan told her, because she did not know what it was to not trust. Yes, God told her not to eat and that if she did she would die. Did she really know what death was? There was no death in the garden to that point.

Of course, she had free will because she exercised it. Yes, of course, she was disobedient and did die spiritually at that moment, which is evident in her next action of deceiving Adam.

Stop and think about what life was like in the Garden prior to this pivotal moment in time. I am not saying that she is not guilty, of course she is. I am only saying that life in the Garden originally was free of even the knowledge of evil and that satan is the true, original deceiver.

One point to ponder about the free will of Adam and Eve in the garden is, could they have not chosen to eat of the fruit? In order for us to choose God, we have to have something else to choose instead of Him. Man had to fall in the garden, it was all part of God's plan. Why would God have put it in there in the first place, if it was to not be eaten?

This was a way for man to experience the other side, and then know which he truly wants. Just as we can not appreciate light without dark, we could not know the goodness of God without knowing evil.

Blessings,

Leon

But you are speial in God's eyes. Woman was created from man's rib. Ever wonder why? Because you are to walk beside a man as his equal partner in Christ. When you join in marriage the 2 become 1. You were taken from the rib to signify that you are no less or no more loved than man. Otherwise He would have made woman from the foot or the head. So how could you be any less? And no it is not sinful to search for answers.
