Sharon: I am a Christian, I believe in God. I worship him daily. I love him so much.
Bob: Who is God?
Sharon: He is a mystery. He loves everybody. He gave me a free will to choose whatever I want. He doesn't choose anyone but makes a "free offer" to everyone who is willing to use the free will God gave him to accept it. He never rebukes anyone. He doesn't condemn anyone. He would never say anything insulting to anyone. He only gives me nice things. He doesn't cause evil or sickness. etc. etc.
Bob: Oh. So, that is the god that you believe in?
Sharon: Yup.
Bob: I am glad that I am not a "Christian" then.
Sharon: What do you mean?
Bob: The God that I read about in the Bible whose name is YHWH doesn't match any of your description. That's the God that I worship.
We must be like the apostles and recognize false doctrine, and lies...
at what point are we worshiping another Jesus? People sometimes forget the fear and trembling side of Christianity and the results thereof can be damaging. :/ We must love perfectly, and see what is lost and pray that it is restored.

This is not the time of wrath.
Love never tells a christian they are lost. or dead or a heretic.
Not everyone who says they are Christian knows Christ, because everyone has a different view of who he is, and some of those views are wrong.
Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
The people Jesus was speaking of in this scripture are calling him "Lord", they know he's the Christ, the messiah... so why aren't they entering the kingdom of heaven? Because they did not do the will of the father.
The Bible speaks a lot on false prophets and Christians, pharisees and deceivers. Because they called themselves Christians, will they receive the kingdom as well?
"Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them (graven image), nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,"
Vengence is mine, sayeth the Lord, and I shall repay!
God told King Saul to kill every one, including the animals, of the Amalekites. Saul did not do this and he, and his sons, died.
God destroyed Sodom and Gamorrah.
God is love, but God is also vengeful, jealous, and full of wrath to those who revel in their sins, and to those who support those who revel in their sins.
Even those of us who have received salvation can backslide, and when we do, it is a rejection of our salvation and God. The God of the Old Testament has not changed. He loved us so much, that he sent His Son to die for us. But, when we stand before him on the Day of Judgement and our lives are revealed, those who did not follow him faithfully, God will say to them, "Depart from me, I never knew you!"
Why is it held back? Because Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the BELIEVERS? Is that why the Lord's wrath is held back? It doesn't seem like that when I read Revelations or any prophetic scripture. :/
Why do you think that we don't have to repent and live a holy life and follow his commandments?
His wrath is held back from his followers. His wrath shall fall like burning rain on the wicked. Read Revelations. His covenant with us changed in that punishment of sin was taken from weak and fallible men, and returned to where it should be.
God has proven time and time again that His hand is against the wicked. There are no so blind as those who will not see.
If God, and His rules, had changed, then the 10 Commandments would be meaningless. It would be ok to lie, cheat, steal, fornicate, and murder. But it is not ok. Jesus said he came to fulfill the law, not to change it. God still condemns the same things He did before He sent His Son. Only the ceremonial things have changed, wearing mixed fibers, eating shellfish, eating pork, etc. Sin is still sin and God is still the God of the Old Testament. This "touchy feely" God so many preach about these days is a twisted version of the reality of God. God is love, but God shall also punish the wicked. And those who preach a deviated version of the Bible, shall be punished according to the words in Revelations 22 v19.
"And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."
