View Profile History	1 John 5:16, 17 Posted : 24 Feb, 2009 08:56 PM oh yea, one more thing. maybe you have heard this story. this is what its like to be dead in your sins and then to be saved from sin if a dead man is found in the water and is thrown a raft, because he is dead, he can not grab a hold of it. that is what it means to be dead in you sin... if all God did was throw you a raft(gave you the gift) how can you take the raft(how can you take the gift) if you are dead(dead in your sin)? you cant! you can not accept Gods gift of life if you are dead in sin... but that is the gift... he doesnt require you to accept it... he gives it to you... and you are now alive in Christ, no longer are you dead in sin, but you are filled with the holy spirit, and are sealed. I am not so sure I would go that far concerning Apostasy, since the bible does say it, but I do believe that there is more to it than we think. I also agree with you about election. God chooses us, not the other way around. I just read an interesting paper on that, which says there is more to election than we realize, it is God keeping His word to the 10 lost tribes, and all their descendants. It claimed that all true Christians were actually descended from the 10 tribes. The author had an amazing amount of scripture to back this up. It really makes you think, plus it explains a lot. A friend of mine says he has heard it before. I am telling you, he had a ton of scripture, all in context. It got my attention. I will post something more after I have a chance to study it a little. I try to be careful about posting things like that until I check them out a little. It is one thing when you are dealing with accepted doctrine, but something like this could really mess people up.
