Admin	Are Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons Christian? CDFF thinks not. Posted : 4 Aug, 2011 09:46 AM Under the 'Advanced Search' thing you can specify which denomination you're looking for. Curiously, neither the Jehovah's Witnesses nor the LDS/Mormons are listed as options. Isn't available under 'Edit Profile and 'denomination' either. Not saying they are or aren't, but I'd think if we asked them they'd say they were. So the question occurs, what other denominations are excluded? Who decided to do so? Post Reply

Posted : 4 Aug, 2011 01:40 PM Jeff, Evangelical Christians have certain minimal standards for those who profess to be Christians such as: That Jesus is Almighty God and should be worshiped. That the Divine Blood of Jesus alone saves us from our sins That the 66 books of the Protestant Bible are all inspired by God in the original Greek and Hebrew languages That Jesus gave us a New Covenant and we are to OBEY EVERYTHING Jesus commanded and all the other NT commands in Acts to Revelation. Most Evangelical Protestants also believe: That we should only pray to the Father as Jesus commanded in Luke 11:2-4 That we should only ask the Father to forgive us our sins as per Luke 11:2-4 That Jesus is the only Head of the church and that He alone appoints some to be prophets,teachers, evangelists and pastors as per Ephesians 4:11-16 That we are saved by Faith alone which is the Gift of God and not by works and that there are countless eternal rewards for those who love and obey Jesus Post Reply

Posted : 4 Aug, 2011 02:28 PM Shalom, No Jehovah's Witnesses only believe that the Father Jehovah is God and that Jesus is not God and that his blood is therefore not sufficient to save us from our sins. Mormon's believe that the Book of Mormon replaces the NT and that the better you are the more wives and children you will have in heaven. Do you know what Brigham Young {Who had over 40 wives} used to say?? He said "I don't care how you bring em just Bring Em YOUNG!! Post Reply

Posted : 4 Aug, 2011 03:57 PM Jehovah's Witnesses were founded in the late 1870s by Charles Taze Russell with the formation of Zion's Watch Tower Tract Society. They reject Trinitarianism, the Inherent Immortality of the Soul, and Hellfire, all of which they consider to be unscriptural doctrines. The very Fact that they Deny The Trinity places them outside of Christianity. Mormons Believe that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. That God Speaks to Prophets Today. They Believe Joseph Smith was a Prophet. That God the Father has a body (flesh and bones). Mormons Believe that if you Live a Good Life here on Earth that you will be God in the �after life� and will be able to have �spirit children� that will �Populate� other Planets!! (Scientology Anyone?) I could go on but, these are Enough to show that they are a cult. Again�Jeff�all of this is not �News� to you. What is your purpose? Now the Overseer or Bishop must be the husband of but one wife.....He must manage his own family well..If anyone does no know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's church? I Tim 3:12 and Titus 1:6: Deacons and Elders should also be the husband of but one wife. I Corinthians 9:5: Paul said �Don't we have the right to take a believing wife along with us, as do the other Apostles and the Lord's brothers and Cephas {PETER} What church became famous for having thousands of their unmarried priests fondle and seduce hundreds of thousands of innocent and trusting children?? Matthew 23:9: Jesus says, �Do not call ANYONE on earth 'father,' for you have ONE {Spiritual} Father, and He is in Heaven!!� What Church calls all their priests spiritual �Fathers�?? And their Satanic leader �Holy Father�?? This Church actually claim that they do not worship Mary but what are all these "Hail Mary's" all about??? Actually this Church worships and prays to Mary far more than they worship Jesus and His Father combined even though God's Word commands us over 100 times to Worship and pray to GOD ALONE Hebrews 9:15,26b-28: Christ is the mediator of a NEW COVENANT so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance--now that He has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant...But now He has APPEARED ONCE FOR ALL at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the SACRIFICE of Himself... so Christ was SACRIFICED ONCE to take away the sins of many people, and He will *APPEAR* a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him. Hebrews 10:10: �We have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus **ONCE FOR ALL**!!� What Church believes that Jesus has to die every day except Good Friday to take away sins and that Satanic priests have the power to change wine into the blood of Jesus and wafers into the body of Jesus which they eat. Because God is perfectly Holy, he demands moral perfection from His creation. Since the entire human race died spiritually in The Fall of Adam and Eve, God has decided that the ONLY way we can be saved is by faith alone. Habakkuk said this, and Paul said it, and Jesus said it. ANY....and I repeat ANY organization that teaches that faith in the messiah is not enough, is NOT Christian. What is called Protestant Christianity is Christian and nothing else is. Roman Catholicism teaches Salvation by ceremony and works. JW's teach faith plus works. Mormonism, which is much closer to hinduism than anything, teaches faith plus works.
