Jesus was a Real Man -- History Proves that.
What is in the Bible is Historically Accurate.
That means that that there are Only Three Possibilities When it comes to Jesus Christ.
Either Jesus was a Raving Lunatic...a Mad Man�out of His mind. Deluded and Deceived.
Or a Conspirator�a Magician�Deceiving everyone and it was all just a Conspiracy (which is what I believe the Jews believe)...
Or Jesus was Exactly Whom He Said He was...The Living Son of God!
Those are the Only Possibilities!
Now we just have to discuss these Three possibilities.
Jude Replies ~ Well I know in my Heart of Hearts that Jesus isn�t a Raving Lunatic as the Pharesees/Saducees would have us believe�and He isn�t a Magician deceiving anyone�He was up front and personal with Everyone even the Pharesees/Saducess...Soooo�from reading the Historical Documents in the Bible Especially Isaiah, I have found Him to be Exactly Whom He SAYS He IS�.Soooo now how does a person go about using the OT & NT for that matter to Show the Evidence that Jesus is the Messiah ??? Anyone ???

As to the original question, I don't think Jesus was crazy, or that the Gospel authors were lying, but I do believe their writings were never intended to become a religion separate from Judaism. Afterall, if you're proclaiming the Jewish Moshiach has arrived and was Jesus, setting yourself outside the religion that made those prophecies doesn't make a lot of sense. What actually happened was the contemporaries of Jesus began writing about what they'd seen and learned, but only MUCH later did those Gospels get bundled together and made into the NT. My opinion is that Christianity should never have been invented and the Gospels should have become like a biography and autonomous text about the supposed Moshiach. And indeed, at first that's what they were as Jews were the first Christ-followers still very much Jews practicing Judaism but also reading whatever they had about the supposed Moshiach.
As an aside, Jesus was hardly the one and only ever claimant to the Moshiach title. If you google like 'other Messiahs' you'll see there've been more than a few throughout history pre and post-Jesus.

I understand what you are saying here Jeff...BUT...remember...Jesus' Tomb is Empty ! All the Others arnt and the bodies are tucked away in a BOX...now what ?...as I said earlier...This is the Stumbling Block to a Un-Believer...That Christ Jesus IS Rizen...Ifin a person can't wrap their Head/Mind/Carnal around this Fact...then perhaps it is because they have yet to Expierance an Actual Spiritual Experiance ( Awakening~ Rejuvination )...xo

Yes...I am aware of those Threads...I was on them and what I said there is still the same...plus the Targum is a Aramaic translation of the Hebrew Script & Bible and does not have all the OT scriptures nor the NT...Your Scripture list Actualy Proves He is...as I said befor...you do not Accept the NT at all so what is it you are seeking from a Christian Believer as Proof...since they are not Allowed to use the NT are you seeking OT Scripture that Aligns or Not to the Prophesies to Prove or Dis-Prove to You that Yahshua~Jesus is the Messiah ? xo

So just because it�s of �Your Opinion� that Christianity SHOULD NOT HAVE STARTED�we should Pack up and leave?
My point is (and you have not Refuted it) that Why would ANYONE be willing to Die for a Madman or a Deceiver? Especially in such Horrible ways? All one had to do was DENY CHRIST!!!!! Simply to DENY HIM!!!
No big deal�you Deny Him and then go back to Believing! WHY DIE for HIM????
Is there any man in Jewish History that THOUSANDS�nay�HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS have been willing to DIE FOR that man?
Do you think that all these people�these Martyrs�were Hypnotized or Drugged? Ages after Ages of Blood Willingly Given because of THEIR BELIEF!
Now I�m not speaking about Persecution, but rather willingly Dying Rather than DENYING CHRIST!

Luke 3:23-38 and Matthew 1:1-16 gives the genealogy of Jesus through Mary and Joseph who were both related to David and Abraham. Jesus was born in the town of Bethlehem to a virgin as prophesied in Micah 5:2 and Isaiah 7:14.
Luke 1:26-35: God sent an angel:angel: Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, "greetings, you are highly favored. The Lord is with you."
The angel said to her, "You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of His father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; His kingdom will never end." {All of which was prophesied in the OT}
"How will this be," Mary asked the angel:angel:, "since I am a virgin?" The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God."
Micah 5:2: "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me One who will be Ruler over Israel, whose origins are from old, from ancient times."
Isaiah 9:6,7: " For to us a child is born, to us a Son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over His kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever."
Isaiah 7:14: The Lord Himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a Son and will call Him *IMMANUEL*!!" {Which means in Hebrew "GOD WITH US"!!}:applause:
Isaiah 53:5,6: "He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him. and by His wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way, and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all!!"
Hebrews 9:15,26b-28: Christ is the mediator of a **NEW COVENANT** so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance--now that He has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant...But now He has APPEARED once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the SACRIFICE of Himself... so Christ was SACRIFICED ONCE to take away the sins of many people, and He will *APPEAR* a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him.
Hebrews 8:8,9,13: God found fault with the people and said {In Exodus 25:40}: The time is coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a **NEW COVENANT**{Read Deut 18:17-19!!} with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. It will **NOT** be like the covenant I made with their forefathers.....By calling this covenant **NEW**, He made the first one **OBSOLETE**; and what is **OBSOLETE** and aging will soon disappear.� {When all the words of the New Covenant were completed by the Book of Revelation in AD 96!!}
Hebrew 10:8-10: Jesus said, "Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them. Although the law required them to be made. The He {Jesus} said. "Here I am, I have come to do your will." He {Jesus} set aside the first {Covenant} to establish the second. And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus ONCE FOR ALL!!

Jeff, In Daniel 9:24-26, Daniel wrote of a vision he had been given concerning his people [Jews] and Israel.
"Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Know therefore and understand, [that] from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince [shall be] seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof [shall be] with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined."
You would do well to study the history behind this passage, and seek for yourself using Daniel's time table from the time King Artaxerxes of Persia issued the decree to rebuild Jerusalem, until "Messiah the Prince"; but more importantly, who do you think is this "Messiah the Prince" that Daniel speaks of? There is only one prophesied Messiah, right? And using Daniel's timetable, He already came. And He was cut off [crucified].
Micah, also prophesied of the Messiah in 5:2-
"But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, [though] thou be little among the thousands of Judah, [yet] out of thee shall he come forth unto me [that is] to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth [have been] from of old, from everlasting."
Unless you know of another whose goings forth have been from of old and from everlasting, who came out of Bethlehem, Jesus, the Christ, the Messiah was He who was born in Bethlehem. Others here have provided Scripture that proves Jesus is and was the Messiah that was prophesied and written of by the writers of the OT and spoken of by the writers of the NT. Do you really think those writers of the NT took the OT prophesies and fabricated them in their day so we could have a religion called Christianity? Again, please study Daniel's vision and let us know who you think "Messiah the Prince" is, that came so many years ago.

Deuteronomy 18:17-19: The Lord said to Moses "I will raise up for them {Israelites} a Prophet like you from among your brothers; I will put My words in His mouth, and He will tell them Everything I command Him. If anyone does not listen to My words that the Prophet speaks in My Name I Myself will call him to account!!"
John 14:23,24: Jesus says, "If anyone:rolleyes::rolleyes: loves Me, he will obey My teaching, My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him:angel:...These words you hear are not My own, they belong to the Father who sent Me!!"
