My point is that Adam and Eve were not married (formal), they only had God's blessing. Who created the idea that God's blessing= a formal marriage? Is it in the Bible that one must go through this formal marriage process to be married and thus have God's blessing? Post Reply

Why do people associate a formal marriage as the only way in which one can receive God's blessing? Where does it say in the Bible that one must go through a formal marriage to receive God's blessing? Posted : 28 Dec, 2011 11:16 PM Hi i was reading this as i was interested and one thing that i think everyone missed and i know this doesnt answer your question but I keep hearing that who married adam and eve and about his blessing .;.but the point to this is God made eve from adam ... God made them for each other.... ok so they know that they are ment for each other the other thing is .... when they were married they lived a sinless life.. they walked and talked with God just as we do with each other he was more real to them then alot of people... God didnt just give them his blessing and there more they were married.... but God took a piece of adam.. a rib and made eve From the rib.... she was not made from dust she was made from adam... she was apart of adam and belonged physically to adam. I believe God blesses all marriages as they have vowed to love each other forever and it is not accepted to divorce.... you have completly given your self to the other person... and God blesses that Even if its the wrong person as long as you withhold the covernant then Gods blessing with forever remain but I believe where Formal Marriage comes into it..is a decleration of your love for someone...you are binding your self to that person for your life, and that IS legeally as well how many people Go out and say that ill never leave you and just leave them anyway as soon as it gets hard... but in a marriage its alittle bit harder then that.....you loose half of ur stuff and you have to make it legal and you stand to loose alot.... but I believe that this type of marriage is important.. BEcause bottom line is WE are fallen....we Lust and desire the first thing we see... we have trouble hearing God we hear what we want.. its not as easy as it was for adam and eve.... IF they didnt sin then we wouldnt have to have a marriage because God would tell us who is for who and thats Gods word and thats all we care about ........but now because we are a sinful creature then we must bind ourselves hard to keep us from falling away from the one thing that was intended for... our marriage is ment to reflect Gods and our relationship....
