I would like to ask,What are people on this site 'FEARING'?
Are they fearing to be Banned,Deleted, made fun of,
Maybe being called an unbeliever, have the devil emoticon put to them, saying 'You are the devil,or you are of the devil.
How about those that always oppose everything that you post, saying that 'You oppose the Word of GOD"
Or,you are not psting according to 'Faith'
Who really cares.
I happen to know whom i have believed, and i have been persuaded that He is able to keep that which i have given to Him unto the day of Yeshua.
Since ABBA started talking with me,WHich was some time ago,
I have believed that a Believer in Yeshua is INDESTRUCTABLE
until ABBA takes them to be with Him.
Maybe i happen to be wrong with my understanding of the Word.
Or could the Word be wrong.
Maybe the translation is wrong.
Yet this is the Word of GOD on this matter.
1Jonn 4:16 And we have known and have believed the love which God has in us. God is love, and the one abiding in love abides in God, and God in him.
1Jn 4:17 By this, love has been perfected with us, that we have confidence in the day of judgment, that as He is, we are also in this world.
1John 4:18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment; and the one fearing has not been perfected in love.
1Jn 4:19 We love Him because He first loved us.
1John 4:20 If anyone says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar. For the one not loving his brother whom he has seen, how is he able to love God whom he has not seen?
1John 4:21 And we have this commandment from Him, that the one who loves God also loves his brother.
Could there be fear, because the Love of some,or many has been growing COLD.
2Ti 1:7 For God did not give a spirit of cowardice to us, but of power and of love and of self-control.
2Ti 1:8 Then do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me, His prisoner. But suffer hardship with the gospel, according to the power of God,
This spirit in vs 7 is not the Holy Spirit, rather the spirit of man.
Paul is telling Timmy not to fear/be fearful of testifying of Yehsua.
How many people do you know that FEAR testifying/being a witness of Yeshua.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. NASB
Your understanding of fear does not seem to be compatible with this verse. Also your description of fear seems to be highly dependant on present cultural values ... why isn't reverance a valid aspect of fear Biblically?
Acts 5 Ananias lied about the amount that they had given from the property they had sold ...
Great fear seized the whole church and all who heard about these events.
This also seems to show an example of fear that doesn't really fit with account you have provided.
Also what about the disciples that went out and served the Lord until they ran into a powerful demon that gave them the bash. When the Church heard about this, it lead to a refining of it, leading to repentance, confessions of sins and some even gave their witchcraft books to be burned. Again this seems to be incompatible with the account you have given.
2Ti 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
1Ti 5:20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
In one context you see the word saying he has not given us a spirit of fear, and in another the word says that others may fear, there is obviously a different application.
2Ti 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
let us not forget as revealed in this scripture that in context we know that fear is a spirit, and knowing that perfect love cast out all fear, we also know that spirit is not of God.
The unsaved should fear God because He can send them to hell as per Luke 12:5: and the saints should fear that they will lose many of their eternal rewards in heaven:
Phil 2:12: "Continue to work out your salvation with fear."
I Peter 1:17: "Since you call on a Father who judges each man's work impartially, live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear."
2 Cor 5:10: For we must all appear before the Judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done in the body, whether good or bad."
2 John 1:8: "Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully.":applause:
