Aletheia (ἀλήθεια) is a Greek word variously translated as "unclosedness", "unconcealedness", "disclosure" or "truth". The literal meaning of the word ἀλήθεια is "the state of not being hidden; the state of being evident" and it also implies sincerity, as well as factuality or reality.

Jn 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

This word used as truth is repeated thru out the new testament, as the word above. There is no other word that could mean any more to a christian than the word truth and we also know that truth is a person.
