Revelation 17:14: They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because He is Lord of lords and King of kings--and with him will be His called, chosen and faithful followers."
Jesus says, "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up at the Last Day!" John 6:44
Many are called by God's Word but the Father knows those who will be faithful :angel:and these are the ones He chooses.:rolleyes:
Mat 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.
What does this exactly mean?
Think about it for a second....
If God is sovereign, always accomplishing what He sets out to do and knows the future, then why would God someone and not choose them?
THEN.....Twosparrows VERY NEXT STATEMENT IS:
"This is just another conflict with Reformed theology: Saying God chooses people then calls them but doesn't choose them?"
James replies:
I am stunned........ What is anyone supposed to say to this?
JESUS....says point blank, MANY are called but FEW are chosen, and YOU KNOW what HE means!
Then you turn right around and say "Reformed theology" doesn't make sense?!?
I will TELL YOU what doesn't make any sense!
YOU desperately trying to convince yourself that the Bible does not say what it says!
Matthew 22 is a parable you don't have to spend a whole lot of time understanding, but it IS a parable you need to ACCEPT.
Many ARE called, and they are totally Spiritually DEAD, so they WILL REFUSE to come, and FEW are chosen, and they WILL be attending the Wedding feast!!!

Now the CONTEXT:
KJV
Mat 22:1 And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,
Mat 22:2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
Mat 22:3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
Mat 22:4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
Mat 22:5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
Mat 22:6 And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.
Mat 22:7 But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
Mat 22:8 Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
Mat 22:9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.
Mat 22:10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.
Mat 22:11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
Mat 22:12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
Mat 22:13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Mat 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

Mat 22:1 And answering, Jesus again spoke to them in parables, saying:
Mat 22:2 The kingdom of Heaven is compared to a man, a king, who made a wedding feast for his son.
Mat 22:3 And he sent his slaves to call those being invited to the wedding feast, but they did not desire to come.
Mat 22:4 Again, he sent other slaves, saying, Tell the ones invited, Behold, I have prepared my supper; my oxen, and the fatlings are killed, and all things ready; come to the wedding feast.
Mat 22:5 But not caring they went away, one to his own field, and one to his trading.
Mat 22:6 And the rest, seizing his slaves, insulted and killed them.
Mat 22:7 And hearing, the king became angry. And sending his armies, he destroyed those murderers and burned their city.
Mat 22:8 Then he said to his slaves, Indeed, the wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not worthy.
Mat 22:9 Then go onto the exits of the highways and call to the wedding feast as many as you may find.
Mat 22:10 And going out into the highways, those slaves gathered all, as many as they found, both evil and good. And the wedding feast was filled with reclining guests.
Mat 22:11 And the king coming in to look over those reclining, he saw a man there not having been dressed in a wedding garment.
Mat 22:12 And he said to him, Friend, how did you come in here, not having a wedding garment? But he was speechless.
Mat 22:13 Then the king said to the servants, Binding his feet and hands, take him away and throw him out into the outer darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of the teeth.

Mat 22:1 And Jesus answering, again spake to them in similes, saying,
Mat 22:2 `The reign of the heavens was likened to a man, a king, who made marriage-feasts for his son,
Mat 22:3 and he sent forth his servants to call those having been called to the marriage-feasts, and they were not willing to come.
Mat 22:4 `Again he sent forth other servants, saying, Say to those who have been called: Lo, my dinner I prepared, my oxen and the fatlings have been killed, and all things are ready, come ye to the marriage-feasts;
Mat 22:5 and they, having disregarded it , went away, the one to his own field, and the other to his merchandise;
Mat 22:6 and the rest, having laid hold on his servants, did insult and slay them .
Mat 22:7 `And the king having heard, was wroth, and having sent forth his soldiers, he destroyed those murderers, and their city he set on fire;
Mat 22:8 then saith he to his servants, The marriage-feast indeed is ready, and those called were not worthy,
Mat 22:9 be going, then, on to the cross-ways, and as many as ye may find, call ye to the marriage-feasts.
Mat 22:10 `And those servants, having gone forth to the ways, did gather all, as many as they found, both bad and good, and the marriage-feast apartment was filled with those reclining.
Mat 22:11 `And the king having come in to view those reclining, saw there a man not clothed with clothing of the marriage-feast,
Mat 22:12 and he saith to him, Comrade, how didst thou come in hither, not having clothing of the marriage-feast? and he was speechless.
Mat 22:13 `Then said the king to the ministrants, Having bound his feet and hands, take him up and cast forth to the outer darkness, there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth;
