With a little straining you can see your own shoulders, butt cheeks and the back of your thighs, the one place you can't see is the small of your back. Scripture says God puts our sins in the small of His back.
In the Hebrew mind the past is in front of a person and the future is behind. The thinking is since the past is seen it is in front of a person, and the future is not seen therefore behind a person where they can't see.
Jesus paid the price for everyone of your sins even before you commited them. God has placed your future sins behind Him; in the small of His back where He can't see them.
The cycle of shame, guilt, and asking forgiveness needs to end Now. Use sin in your favor as a indicator of where you are in your walk, how to pray and keep moving forward, never looking back.
Everytime a Christna sins we are to repent of that or those sins. This is the reason Jesus died so that we might be able to come every single time before the throne of grace for repentance...
Jesus died ONCE for all and all for once, thise does not mean that we no longer have need to repent when we sin. We are to repent everyday of our sins that we commit or may have committed for that day.. I don't think Fisher is speakign about consistantly repenting of his sins from his past, he knowns they have been forgiven when he first repented and come to know Jesus Christ those sins were thrown into the seas of forgetrness never t be remembered nomore By God.
I think he is speaking about being aware that he will sin, and he makes sure he is aware that the best way for him to manage this is and be an overcomer of sinning is to repent of his sin daily, just in case, and soon the Holy Spirit will teach him that it is possible to life a sin free life as a Christna. After alll, is not this is why the Holy Spirit comes to live on the inside of us upon our salavtion?... to assist and help rid us of our sin nature problems, and to warn us when we are about to commit sin and to go another path, and convict our hearts to repentance when we do sin? This is the works of the Holy Spirit accordning to what God teaches, to convict us of our sins and bring us to repentance thereof.... and that's a daily process of repenting for the sins of the day.
I apologize for quoting Scripture without giving chapter and verse here, but I do remember somewhere in Scripture that the bible says that when God forgives you, He throws your sins in the
"sea of forgetfulness".
Twosparrows makes a good and important point, that when God forgives you, you are forgiven, PERIOD.
God does NOT change His mind towards His people.
Jesus said that He gave His life for the sheep and that He would not lose even ONE of them that the Father gave Him.
When you repent and trust in Jesus, your sins are forgiven, and that settles it for all eternity!
He throws your sins in the "sea of forgetfulness".
**** ?????...I dont recall reading this in my Bible or that God remembers no more or casts away sin...Can Anyone find Scripture pertaining to this ???...Thanxs....xo
James and Jude you can find this in David's Psalm... Psalm 31 and Jeremiah 31
When there is not true repentance the hand of God comes up againts us and He chastises us as in Hebrews chapter 12, this is why we are to pray always withut ceasing, and repent daily of our sins of that day... once we have repented of thsoe sins of the past when we become born agin, we are to move on... its the penalty of sin or the consequences of our sins when there is no true repentance...
As Fisher states and we are taught to pray dialy Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us of our sins, as we forgive other s who have sinned against us... when we include this in our daily prayers we are covered from the attacks of the devil bringing up our past sins ...
40Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.
41Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?
42And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?
43Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
44Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
45But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
46The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
47And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
48But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
Isa 38:17 Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.
