Allow me to preface this post by saying it is a "Exploratory Post" this means everyone is free to express their ideas without others calling them a doctrine if demons or others saying you can't disagree....this is a open "free for all" to express and discuss your ideas (wacky or whatever) and/or beliefs.

What makes a person good or bad? We know as Christians it is being "Born Again" by the Spirit of God. Okay, lets take a step back and say for the sake of discussion that you have a choice in being Born Again. What made you make that choice the way you did? Of course the Christian will answer the Holy Spirit wooed me or worked on my heart and opened my eyes. Okay, why do some accept and agree with the Holy Spirit and some don't?

Hmmmm...*taking another step back* Aren't we a product of our environment? Don't we make decisions by what we have experienced in the past? Isn't it God who chooses the time and place people will live?

Okay, one might say environment is chosen by God in our best interests so that we would be eventually saved, therefore we are not a product of our environment, but rather a product of how we respond to the environment God has placed us.

Hmmm...*taking another step back*

How we respond to our environment is determined by our genetics something we had no hand in. A Christian might respond God again has chosen the right genetics for our spirit to inhabit to give us the best possible chance of eventually choosing Him.

The wild card in all this is our spirit; are each of us given a spirit as God gave Adam or does spirit beget spirit as flesh begets flesh so that our spirits are the result or combination of the spirits of our ancestors just like our DNA? We know there are spirits without bodies looking for people to inhabit ...how do this figure into who we are and our eternal destiny?

We need to know more about "spirits" ours and others.

Well hopefully you found something in all this to comment on...Lol!

PJ, I read your post three times; I do not see a answer why some choose God and others don't, so why not just explain it to me. I may be a man, however I am not opposed yo asking for directions!...

I thought Jesus Himself explained this? I'm referring to the parable of the sower whose seed fell on different types of ground which you all know...

Dkj;

I see you haven't been raptures yet!...lol

Yes, I have considered this parable, however it brings up the same question....

...Who makes the ground what it is?...God, Satan, Us--- Our spirit, Our flesh or a combination of all or any of these???

Good to see you, T. I agree #3 is a possibility. However I am intrigued by door #4. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well it's 7:37 here now and everyone I know is still here. I wonder what H Campings is doing now?

Chevy, I believe there's a possibility that #3 & #4 could be co-mingled. As in there's a "God-gene/seed" and "Satan-gene/seed". Perhaps we have free will, but God manipulates those with His/Adams gene and Satan can manipulate those with his gene more easily. All this being said, I still believe that God is sovereign over any and all genes. :)

I see what you're saying, T, and it makes sense. I would be able to understand the Calvinist teaching about the elect if #4 were the correct answer. I already believe that fallen angels procreated with humans. I'm not sure if it's still happening, but if it is and has been all this time, then the possibility that james is right exists for me.I can see Jesus only shedding his blood for an "elect" group if the un-elect were made up of people who are "satan's seed". I don't know much about the serpent seed doctrine, but I'm curious as to what it is exactly.

Chevy, there are a few serpent seed teachings...just for the record I do NOT give any creedence to the ones that say the serpent seed is a particular race of people such as blacks, whites, asians etc...

Two wrote - "Again what is it that makes some run after GOD and others run away?"

I think Jesus pretty much explains it in John 12:25 - "He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal." Some people just aren't willing to lose their lives. They live for themselves and love their lives as is. Sin and all. They don't want to give up any part of it or be accountable for those things they do. Others are opposite that. They might hate what they have allowed their lives to become or what sin has done to their lives and how they are living, and realize their lives are in need of a Saviour.

Saved; Your not getting off the hook that easy!

What is it that makes some Love this life, sin and all and others hate it enough to turn to God?

What is it that makes that difference?
