At the risk of opening a can of worms...what is reformed theology, in a nutshell?

So if no one will be turned away then everybody has been chosen. Right?

James replies:

No. God could have chosen to save no one, and He STILL would have been perfectly just and right to send us all to Hell.

BUT....God is not only just, but also loving and merciful, so he decided to same SOME of the human race for Himself.

No one will ever be turned away, who comes to Jesus, because the ONLY people who will EVER repent and trust in Jesus are the ones that the Holy Spirit makes alive.

Jesus told Nicodemus that you have to be born again FIRST, before you can see, or enter the Kingdom of God.

The world you and I live in, is like a world of spiritual zombies.

They walk around, they do things, and they are totally spiritually DEAD. God, makes some of them come alive, and those are the ones who trust in Jesus.

In Christ,

James

James said: "You reject God choosing whom He will save, even though you know He chose the Jews and ONLY them in the ancient world."

Epic Fail James, it reveals you don't know or understand your Bible, God did not "ONLY" the Jews although he did choose them, but you need to ask yourself: 'Chose them for what?'

James said: " You reject God's election, and the CLEAR scripture proof of it,"

No I do not, however I reject your idea that election is 'unconditional'. God is sovereign and chooses as according to His own conditions; God does not play duck duck goose or eni minee moe with the eternal further of peoples lives; those He gave His life for in Jesus to save.....oops, sorry I forgot ; He did not give His life for all *rolling eyes*

James said: because you reject what the Bible teaches about fallen man. You demand that the Fall, merely hurt Adam, but Genesis says that Adam DIED spiritually that day. Adam HAD free will but lost it the moment he ate of the fruit.

Hahaha, what the Bible teaches! You can't not supply one Scripture that blatantly says Adam lost his free will in the fall, oh you can supply Scripture that can be interpreted in light of your doctrine; however every cult can do that!

I think the whole pre-selection/pre-destination thing all depends on your perspective - in the same way that do we really have free will if God already knows exactly what we're going to do?

As far as YOU are concerned, you have free will and can accept or reject Jesus. As far as God is concerned (and I'm arrogantly trying to explain things from a position far greater than my own, may He forgive me), none of your life's choices are a surprise or unexpected to Him - effectively His will (His selection if you like) is being carried out by your thoughts and deeds. One of the advantages of being God, I suppose...
