How gracious is your God?

Time and time again I hear of Christians saying that if you don't believe xyz then you can't have been saved, or that you're no longer saved. Now to make it clear from the outset, I don't believe in once-saved, always-saved, but neither do I believe that sin causes you to lose your salvation.

Think back to the time before you became a Christian (harder for those always brought up as such), how ignorant you were of God and His commands. Did the fact you were a sinner nullify Jesus death and resurrection? By no means! God's love, grace and mercy reached down even to the depths you were in.

Why then do we allow people who should know better to sow doubt about our salvation? Some of the early believers were told they should be circumcised and follow the law of Moses - the very same law that convicted all who had came before and was unable to save. What good does it do to go from salvation based on what Jesus had done, to that based on what you've done!?

Let me say it again: if you can't understand that sinning isn't a bar to salvation, how can you possibly accept Jesus as Lord in the first place? It is while we were still sinners that Christ died for us!

Indeed, it is written that all things are permissible for us (not of course that they are desirable, healthy or recommended), because neither depth, nor height...etc can separate us from the love of Christ. Our God abounds in grace!

(To my knowledge there is only one way of losing your salvation: you choose to. To have the holy spirit within you, and to then cast Him out and deny Christ as saviour and Lord - to that I truly believe there is no way back. But with the spirit indwelling, Christians would rather choose death than deny their Lord.)

So the next time somebody tells you you aren't going to heaven because you don't believe in such and such doctrine, or that you don't have a certain gift, just smile sweetly at them and ask if they would like to hear about your God - One who pours out His spirit on gentile believers as well as Jewish believers, who seeks the sinners and unrighteous, and whose love light is greater than the darkest sin...

:yay:

@dkj:

I believe that you had posted this.

Now what does the WORD of GOD have to say about this,for i believe that this is just your opinion.

John 14:16-17

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Now what does the word FOREVER mean?

Here is Christ talking about this matter.

John 10:27-30

John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

John 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

John 10:30 I and my Father are one.

Christ says that NO MAN,NOT ANYONE has the strength to remove themsleves or others from His hand.....

Please be careful about giving your opinion,

I will always believe the Word of GOD over anyones opinion.

Aloha

ps:

Please look up the word 'Pluck' in the Greek,you might be surprized with what you find.

So you think I made that part up and there's no biblical basis for it? You need to read it again, but whatever you believe, I'd rather not take the risk, thanks...
