What is the singular light in Genesis before the sun and moon were made?

The Word of God brings light. Spiritual illumination. God spoke and there was light which he divided from the darkness before the sun and moon were made. God's Word is a light to our dark minds which points to Jesus Christ.

God being invisible made all things manifest and visible through his Word...likewise, when we have faith in the invisible we look beyond the visible and what our natural eyes show us. A reversal .

With that being said, how does your faith grow.?

Day one ..Yom 1

Can we see it then on day one? ...No, because it is black, no light ...so that means that the sun was the only light shining on that day.

The moon did not give its light .

I was just thinking that some days you can see the moon clear in the daytime sky and other times not at all. So again, the moon gives off its own light!

Waiting at the bus stop will do that. Make you look around . I don't get on my smartphone as most of the world does all plugged into a gadget. I love calling to the woodpeckers and watching them fly and hearing birdsong, looking at the moon , trees, clouds. the heavens. I see huge hawks circling around like they are in a whirlwind and its very pretty here. Peaceful. I wish more people would unplug and watch a sunrise or sunset , nature. etc.

Wow! Ok this changes everything then because Yahweh only mentions a singular light on day 1 and the moon is not mentioned (even though its already been made at the same time as the sun) because it is dark and not lit! You got it Scooby!

So does this clearly tell us that only the dark moon(s) can be New moons? The account of Creation on day one seems to clearly indicate that! Right?

Oh, and the woodpecker loves to peck on my gutters. I think he wanted my attention for food. They love my fruit and nut mix. Since I moved , at least one woodpecker found my new hideout. I was almost teary (pecking my gutters) when he found me as he had missed his feeder and would see me in the neighborhood walking from the mailbox and follow me from tree to tree. My feeder is hidden around the side of the house but he found his pagoda again.

I mean like I thinking the sun tells us when a day begins and ends. But the moon does not.

And the moon tells us when a month begins (New Moon) and ends (waning crescent to eventually dark again). But he sun does not.

And the stars with the moon tell us where we are in the year!

No not the dog star silly!

I get a snack???

My understanding is New moon = new month

So Yahweh made a new moon on Day 1. A moon, yes, but one that DID NOT GIVE ITS OWN LIGHT.

Well most all would tell you (even Zech) that the only reason you see moonlight in the day time is because its reflecting the light of the sun. That is what causes its phases, they say!

But you need to witness this between before 1st qtr to well before full moon, you will notice the shadow line angle does not match up with the position of the sun! Check it out sometime, I have for years!
