"If love is the greatest commandment.....why are the so many Christians who are racist?"

Might be better asked:

Why are there so many fake Christians?

The answer?

Because Satan hates God.

Read Matthew 13:24-30, & then Matthew 13:36-43

Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like a man (Jesus) which planted good seed in his field:

But while men slept, his enemy (Satan) came and sowed tares (fake Christians, that bare no fruits of repentance) among the wheat (real ones, who do bear fruit), and went his way.

But when the blades of wheat grew up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

His workmen asked, did you give us good wheat seed? Why are their Tares with the wheat?

He answered them, An enemy did this. The servants asked him, Do you want us to go and tear out the tares, and collect them for destruction?

But he said, No; while you are gathering the tares, you might also tear out the immature wheat (brand new Christians) that hasn't shown fruit yet, along with the tares.

Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather together first the tares (fake Christians), and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat(real Christians) into my barn.

Good points Prince... and there are many so-called Christians who are racist and are proud of be racist and think they are doing God's will in being racist. Many are hidden racist and pretend...

Chevy states he doesn't know of any Christians who are racist, maybe he doesn't, this could be denial, or this could be that he doesn't know that many people in his area who profess or confess being chirstians who are racist, or it could be that he doesn't get around much to see or hear the Chritsian racists... or that he doesn't know what a racist is about... but this is according to those Christians he knows, and those he has been exposed to... but this doesn't not change the facts and or lessen the truth of the reality that there are many people who profess and confess Christ and are faithful church goers, who are indeed racist and show and express it openingly or covertly.

Sunday morning worship service hour across America is the most segreated time of the week in every denomination. But what they don't understand is that they are denying the truth of God's holy word, and giving Him lip service with their mouths and their hearts are far from Him, and they will stand in judgment beofre Him abd be judge for their lies just as Paul points out in Romans chapter 2 & 3, when rebuking the Judiazers who looked down upon the Gentiles, God will judge harshly for lies in His name...

You can't pretend to be saved of God and hate on your brother of another race... because there is a serious judgment from God for this very things... that's Bible.

@ETcalling...

When I was street-preaching in Portland OR ('09-'10), I encountered a ministry team that was feeding the homeless. (Portland has about 8,000-9,000 homeless people)

They were all black folks, but I could see the love from Jesus in their eyes, and the way that they really did care. I took a moment, & asked them what church they went to.

They told me. I made it a point to visit that church.

It was a really run down part of town, bombed out, and the church building was really old and small. Despite its age, it was beautiful, the place was spotless, they loved their Father's house. It was evident in how they cared for it.

So I went that Sunday. It wasn't the common "Park, Worship, Listen to the Preaching, Alter-call, and Leave".

They did a informal hour long bible study before the main service, and had a potluck dinner in the basement, after service. Having dinner with your real family is what they called it.

I started attending on alternate Sundays, and I loved to worship God with them because I had my inner witness that they, genuinely were my brothers in Jesus.

I've been to many "churches" that claimed to be God's house, but He wasn't there, nor was His word preached. If you have walked with the Lord long enough, you hear and know His voice, but also you know His presence.

There isn't a single member of that church that I would not gladly give my life for them, even the ones who didn't like me being there. The funny thing is, we who are really followers of Jesus better get over this racial thing.. because in heaven, God wont be having it.

I am not sure what you mean by Racist. If you mean the dictionary definition of belief that some ethnic groups are inferior to others, and hatred or prejudging someone because of their skin color, then I don't really know any Christians who are like that.

But, the word "racist" is used by leftists to mean almost anything they don't like.

For instance I am a member of the Tea Party movement, which is about reducing the size of government and lowering tax rates.

Liberalism has become a type of religion in America, and there are LOTS of Christians who don't realize they are mixing the religion of liberalism into their Christian faith.

Take for instance that vile, crazy church Barack Obama attended for 20 years. It was a horribly racist group that taught black liberation theology, which is FAR from the Christian faith, yet, they pretended they were Christians.

Those people would call themselves Christians, yet they are CLEARLY racists. They hate Caucasians.

I do think that since you do have liberalism in many black churches that, that would contribute to Racism.

I have always been saddened when I see black Christians that I know, driving around with Barack Obama bumperstickers on their cars. He is the most radical president in our history, whose views on infanticide alone SHOULD forbid ANY Christian for voting for him.

I think the main reasons that Christians would be racist, is because they don't know Scripture very well, and also because we are all only partially renewed. We are still sinners, and still struggle with sin.

But, in America, we have a political view, held by people who mostly vote Democrat, that has become a type of religion and if a Christian goes to one of those churches, where liberalism is preaches AS IF it were in the Bible, then I can see them being tempted into racist attitudes, and not only that, but calling everyone else racist, who disagrees with them.

I mentioned I am a tea party member, and democrat media people call us racist all the time. No, it is a lie of course, but some people in the democrat party equate civil rights, with Welfare, and since I am for smaller government, and ending handouts to those who can work, they would call me racist.

Racism is a sin, that is dying in America, EXCEPT for liberal democrats who are fanning the flames, and calling anyone who disagrees with them, racist.

If More Christians had a biblical worldview, and knew Scripture better concerning our origins, AND if the religion of liberalism were denounced in liberal Christian churches, then I think racism among Christians would disappear altogether.

In Christ,

James

Prince beautiful testimony. I play piano and have played for and been in several white churches, and have Spanish and white and Asian friends who have visted our church and I theirs, and its an awesome experience to feel that you are welcome and in fellowship with each other the presence of the Lord in all of God's house.

I have also visited white churches with friends and you're made to feel like an outcast, and some try to pretend they are friendly, but as you said, as Jesus spoke His children know His voice and they know each other. But God is still good all the time, and all the time God is good even when we're not. As the scriptures states how can you say you love God whom you have not seen, and you hate your brother whom you see everyday... why its impossible.

Dennis, I know what Chevy is saying, he is saying that HE doesn't know of any Christians that he associates with that are racist, that's why I said what I stated in my comment, as to why it is that he may not know of such people, but he knows there are Christina who are racist. This is just a fact everyone knows there are racist people saved and unsaved in the world.

Memba, racism comes in many colors, but usually when speaking about racist/racism, it reflects on white people because of history's story.

If its my understanding I don't think the question is about a race of peple who are racist, and not just white people being racist, but CHRISTIANS period. And Christians last time I checked, come in all colors, creeds and backgrounds.

Many people think and only know about the whites when the word racist or racism comes up, who have demonstrated their racism openingly.

The point being made by Jesus and Prince is that if everyone would love from the heart and not give lip service about how much they love God or a certain race of people when the behavior dicdates otherwise...and they should love God FIRST from the heart, then we would fulfill the commandments of God and love would come easy for all poeple.

But again, as Jesus speaks, people don't love God from their hearts, because if they did they would not find in their hearts to hate anyone, but would keep the greatest of all the gievn Commandments, the 11th Commandment, which is to love God and your neighbor, upon which all the comandments hang.

As James speaks in his written word, when you break One commandment you have broken all of God's commandment. So as I said and as Prince points out in his street ministry, even if the people he met on the streets had been Korean or Spanish had they shown hin the same affection and God's love, he would have responded the same way, it just so happened that these people were black and he received they love with love, with only one focus in mind, to please God in love.

One thing that is so important to know and understand is that every denomination in the world was created out of racism, a breaking away of people who felt left out or did not feel the love of God in the church... that;s church histpry even from the Bible..

The Black Methodist church start out of racism, the Baptist church started out of racism, there is not a church denomination in America that did not strat out of racism, yet the love of Christ was taught and preach every Sunday, but racism was practed in the church.
