What kind of prayer do you believe reaches the heart of God? Please be a bit more specific than the prayer of faith. I am hoping to have some personal experiences, not doctrine.

p.s. if this is on a different thread I apologize. Please let me know. Thank you!

A prayer with fasting. Fasting (can only speak for myself) is hard work and takes effort and commitment. I believe it makes one spiritually stronger.

Marie,

I believe the disciples asked Jesus that very question, and He answered them ; )

If I may share this with you.

Just yesterday I was in a compromising position, possibly what I had perceived may have been devastating to my current position of living. I went to the Lord in prayer for this concern, I started with my normal praising and thanking but got side tracked and my heart got pulled and my prayer turned to asking the Lord to keep a hand on and blessings for my kids and grand kids, I completely forgot to ask the Lords will on my particular concern. Within hours my particular concern, my prayer that didnt get asked, was answered through a stranger and this was confirmed a true miracle by, with no talk whatsoever of any religion, prayer or heavenly thing, on his way out the door the stranger confessed out of his mouth the words Jesus Christ!

To me this proves this verse true!

(Mat 6:8) Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

Oops, it also confirmed this to me.

(Heb 13:1) Let brotherly love continue.

(Heb 13:2) Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

The answer to every question man can have is available in the written word of God, but it is necessary to know the word of God, is the perfect will of God, on any Given subject to receive anything from the lord.

If you look at the word of God closely there are several different types of prayer, and the different kinds of prayer, have different rules.

Can you say exactly what you would like to know?

i dont think there is a strategy for us to talk to God.

I know that we need to walk in forgiveness and love with those around us.

God really loves humility and surrendered hearts.

but we cannot manipulate His will.

fasting helps us to know His will (in my opinion) and it draws us closer to Him.

again, we cannot use fasting to manipulate the Creator of the World into moving on our behalf something that is not His will for our lives.

Although I do believe that when we pray the scriptures, we get His attention.

There is truth in that statement Jude, but more knowledge is quite necessary to be effective in any prayer.
