I would say that God/His Light/Word is sovereign over all things. He did create everything, its all his.

And I believe that John 3:16 as well as the rest of the Bible is the Word of God. Authored by God and penned by men under the influence of the Holy Spirit.

2Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Well, Phillipjohn usually I ignore your comments because they hardly ever make sense, or have anything to do with what the subject is.

You asked three questions, and one of them even made sense.

You asked,

"In light of God's Word is God sovereign over ALL things?"

That is a great question!

The answer is YES.

Deu 32:39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.

Pro 16:4 The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

God is Sovereign Exo 15:18; 1Chr 29:11-12; 2Chr 20:6; Psa 22:28

1. He exercises that sovereignty in actively ordaining everything

Deu 32:39; 1Sam 2:6-8; Job 9:12; Job 12:6-10; Psa 33:11; Psa 115:3; Psa 135:6; Isa 14:24; Isa 45:7; Act 15:18; Eph 1:11

* Including matters of chance

* Pro 16:33; 1Ki 22:20, 34, 37

The wicked actions of men

* Gen 45:5; Gen 50:20; Exo 4:21; Jdg 14:1-4; Psa 76:10; Pro 16:4; Isa 44:28; Amos 3:6; Act 2:22-23; Act 4:27-28

The actions of evil spirits

* 1Sam 16:14-16; 1Ki 22:19-23; 1Chr 21:1/2Sam 24:1

The good actions of men

* John 15:16; Eph 2:10; Phi 2:12-13

The actions of good angels

* Psa 103:20; Psa 104:4

The actions of animals

* Num 22:28; 1Ki 17:4; Psa 29:9; Jer 8:7; Eze 32:4; Dan 6:22

The operations of all creation

Gen 8:22; Psa 104:5-10; Psa 104:13-14; Psa 104:19-20; Mark 4:39

Man is not permitted to question his sovereign acts

2. Job 33:12-13; Isa 29:16; Isa 45:9-10; Mat 20:1-16; Rom 9:19-24

In Christ,

James

Yes, God is sovereign over all things. Not only is He the creator but He has now redeemed all things through His Son back to Himself. All things are now twice owned by Him.

Yes Jn 3:16 means exactly what it wasy. The problem is that it is not a complete rendition of the Gospel as so many assume and id is usually misinterpreted.

It is the natyre of man to oppose God so yes men will depart from the Word, however, believers will not even though there will be times they struggle with obedience they do not leave it.

Is it in the light of God's word for mankind to depart from the word?

-----------

Yes, (2Tim 4:3) ~ "For the time will come when man will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear."

Walking in light of the word of God is God sovereign of all things?

No

He said man was given dominion on the earth, dominion on the earth is currently to be with the body of Christ, Christians are supposed to be ruling and reigning under the lordship of Jesus.

Satan is still God of the earth and it is not as some would teach, it is not as man allows him, he is God because Adam gave him his dominion, he is still exercising dominion over those not born again and those in the church that are ignorant of their place in Christ.

That is the light on Sovereignty

He has always owned the earth, but it's sovereignty was given to man for a number of days.

John 3:16 is in perfect harmony with the word of God, it is the perfect will of God for all of mankind, and it is in the light, as he is in the light.

Jn3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

This is in total agreement with the word of God and in harmony with scripture, if you don't see the light here it is man's choice.

Jesus said This is exactly how the kingdom of God, as revealed in the parable of the sower.

Man can walk in the light of Jn 3:16 just as he is exhorted to, and if he does it from the heart he will be born again.

Walking in the light of the word, is man's faith according to the word of God, just as he came to the family of God by faith, he can depart from the faith just as the word teaches. It is man's responsibility, not the father's responsibility to be a keeper of his agreement. (covenant)

Num 24:19 Out of Jacob One shall have dominion, And destroy the remains of the city."

Job 25:2 "Dominion and fear belong to Him; He makes peace in His high places.

Psa 145:13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, And Your dominion endures throughout all generations.

Dan 4:3 How great are His signs, And how mighty His wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, And His dominion is from generation to generation.

Dan 4:34 And at the end of the time I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me; and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever: For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, And His kingdom is from generation to generation.

1Pe 4:11 If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

1Pe 5:11 To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Jud 1:25 To God our Savior, Who alone is wise, Be glory and majesty, Dominion and power, Both now and forever. Amen

Rev 1:6 and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen

Man was given dominion over the PHYSICAL things of this earth, not the Spiritual.

Gen 1:26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."

The bible says Jesus has dominion. Man says man has it.

Yep you are partially correct, Jesus did have it and know tells us how it is exercised.

Does the head, do anything without the body?

Does the head move, separate of the Body?

Did Paul cast the devil out of a woman with Jesus's authority, or was the authority, Jesus's authority delegated or given unto Paul?

Is Jesus in a physical body today on the earth?

Did Jesus Gave his authority unto those that believe?

Is man in a Physical body if he is on the earth today?

Does Peter in heaven today, have authority on the earth today?

Does the light of the word of God's word say that demons are subject unto man?

Does the word of God instruct man to be doers of the word, and to walk in the light of the word of God as he is in the light?

Does the epistle of eph, shed light that the body of Christ is seated in heavenly places together with him?

Does the word of God teach that god is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, more than we can ask or think according to the power that is in us?

Does the born again, spirit filled believer carry the power of God in the them?

Is the answer to all of these question in the light of the word of God?

Does the light of men (darkness) agree with the light of God's word?

Does light cause the darkness to flee an unwilling heart?

Is the Lord Jesus glorified when walk in the light of his word?
