Revelation 21:1

" And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea."

What, no sea?

*scratching head*

Any ideas?

Where does the river run to? Does anyone have the address to "GoggleNewEarth". Think MapQuest would work?

hmmmm....

Maybe I'll try that, put in my address at the start point and put in Heaven as the destination! ....hehehe

You must be a seafood lover! Now two, if God created it, he can for sure do some remodeling. All I posted and you took the best of it!

I'd always figured it meant the earth was restored to a more Eden-like state, before there were seas and oceans. You know, the "firmament of water" and all that.

Though I should have said "the waters on each side of the firmament".

Before the flood, most of the water was under the surface of the earth or above/in the firmament. There was no rain either. I'm not sure about snow...it would be a shame if snow didn't exist on the new earth, but I guess it goes to show how perfect God's creation is, even in a fallen environment there is still extreme beauty. But anyway, the surface of the earth is entirely different, and I think the diameter of the earth used to be larger. The plates that move across the surface of the earth now and cause earthquakes were probably elevated on top of a cushion of water and possibly attached to the "pillars" of what are now mountains/plateaus. I don't think there were/are going to be earthquakes destroying/killing people on a perfect Earth, so it would make sense. Carl Baugh and his "Creation in Symphony" videos are extremely interesting. Definitely worth a watch if you've got a VHS player lying around. It's all theory of course, but it fits together VERY nicely, and explains a ton of stuff. Where the giants in the bible came from, etc. We were all "giants"! Or now we're all midgets...one or the other:dunce:.

DHTM,

Thanks, really interesting...but no ocean, no snow : ( ....lol

There is some speculation and hints in scripture that the earth has been re-created before.

I happen to believe, however, that there will be snow and oceans and all the good things we've enjoyed here on Earth - in the new Earth. Only they'll be better, as they'll be as God intended them to be, as they were before the Fall.

I will be able to hit the slopes at God's originally planned Park City, nothing but fresh powder, for as long as I like. With my homey Peter. How cool will that be?!
