10/03/10 Sunday Pastor Alex sermon: Back to the Basics: FAITH-Heb 10:19-26, Heb 11:1-13, Matt 11:12, Daniel 10:10-14

The gift of Faith is talked about a lot in church. It is also used loosely in daily conversation. Whats important is what God says about Faith and why its important to us.

In Hebrews vs. 10 it says we should have BOLDNESS to enter into the Lords presence. This presence being also the throne of Grace.

When the prophets of the Old Testament entered into Gods presence, they fell to their knees. Being in sin is a death penalty from God so they fell to their knees so he wouldnt kill them. God cannot look at sin. We are covered by the Blood of Jesus, washed clean and can enter into Gods presence with no fear of death. This is why we pray to God in Jesuss name, so we are cleaned.

We have to go to the cross of Calvary to meet the Lord because he cant and wont come to us when we are in our sin. We must have Faith in the crosss ability to do its work. This work is cleaning us of our sins so we can go to God in Jesuss name thru Grace.

1) Hold Fast: We must hold fast to things that can bring more Faith into our lives. We are to hold fast to the cross, Gods promises and walk in Faith. God is not in Heaven counting our sins, ready to punish us. God wants to protect us and prosper us. But..when we sin, we are putting a consequence into motion that was set before time by God. Sin has consequences that bring death and destruction. Just like dropping a pair of glasses, gravity brings the consequence of them falling to the ground. So is the consequence of sin.

Grace is the thing. When the cross is applied to our sins Grace intervenes and stops what we have set into motion by sin. We must have faith in Christs ability to do what He was told to do at the cross. Heb 10:19-20 We are to have boldness to enter into the holiest place by the Blood of Jesus, by a New and Living Way. Jesus Christ is our High Priest that we can draw near to. We can walk in a new way now since we got washed vs. 23. We need to hold fast to the cross because it is able to do great things in our lives. We should have a New Attitude. We should have Hope. Let our Hope be seen by others so when they ask us why, we can tell them about Jesus!!

FAITH says that no matterNO MATTER what life throws at us, we BELIEVE that the Cross of Calvary CAN do what needs to be done in our lives!!

FAITH says that we believe and KNOW God is waiting to UNLEASH his blessings and healings on us.

2) Freedom is Worth Fighting For: Matt 11:12 No matter what comes in our lives, we can be free in the midst of hell. We should hold fast to Jesus, the cross, the crucifixion---No matter what!! We can be Free and God is with us! We cry out to God in the middle of our mess and He will be there. Freedom is worth fighting for. We need to fight the doubts that satan brings us. When satan comes to us with junk thats against Gods promises, we need to go to the cross in prayer. We pray to God in Jesuss name and He will meet us at the cross. Anything that tries to kill our joy, take it to the cross and God will stomp it down! The Cross has the power to raise us from the dead and put us in a place of honor.

Daniel 10:10-14 The angel comes to Daniel and tells him what God is going to do with him. The angel said that Daniels words were heard by God. Our words are heard by God. Our prayers go up to God because of Jesus and the cross. We must believe, have faith and

WAIT on God! Freedom is worth fight for because hell wants to steal our faith and joy.

3) We Must Believe there is a Miracle in Our Future:

Say out loud: There is a miracle in our future! We must have Faith like those in the bible had: Heb 11:1-13 Noah, Moses, Abraham, Sarah, Enoch, Shadrach, Meeshack and Abednego had Faith in God! They said God was able to DELIVER them no matter the circumstances. God was with them and they believed. Shadrach, Meeshack and Abednego said NO to bowing to idols and said that God would deliver them. They had Faith . We need to have Faith that thru the Blood of Jesus, we can go to God and He WILL do a miracle in our lives.!

Faith says==No matter what, God is able to deliver us from EVERYTHING!!

Faith says==If God be for us, who can be against us?? NOBODY!!

One Day we will be in the City of God where there is NO sin, NO death, NO doubt and just NO mess! In that day, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.! We need to hold fast to our Faith because the Day of the Lord is coming SOON!!

AMEN and AMEN

First of all Faith is not a gift. No where in the Bible is it ever referred to as a gift (that I know of). At least not that I could find in the KJV. Faith is simply knowing that what we hope for is true and that what we cannot see is real. This is the Faith of the Christian. Our hope is that our Salvation is in Jesus and that we are redeemed to our Father. The evidence of this is in things that cannot be observed in the physical because the evidence is spiritual but is manifested in the physical by the way we live. James asks us to show our faith by what we do.

Secondly, you say, "When the prophets of the Old Testament entered into Gods presence, they fell to their knees." There are three cases where prophets are on their knees and with the exception of Daniel they are praying. And in fact in the very passage given in this sermon Daniel is told to stand up. There is no mention at all of entering the presence of God in any of these cases.

Thirdly, "We have to go to the cross of Calvary to meet the Lord because he cant and wont come to us when we are in our sin. We must have Faith in the crosss ability to do its work. This work is cleaning us of our sins so we can go to God in Jesuss name thru Grace." REALLY??? Then explain how salvation works if Jesus does not come to us. Also the work on the cross is finished. The cross does not continue to do any work in the Christian or anywhere else for that matter. Jesus said, "it is finished" !! In Hebrew the word is Asa, meaning this is enough and in Greek it would be totelisti (sp) meaning paid in full. The work was done. Paul said, "Heb 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God;Heb 10:13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

Heb 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified." We have already been perfected. This passage is speaking in the past tense. Jesus is sitting! His work on the cross is finished.

Fourthly, "We must hold fast to things that can bring more Faith into our lives." See Rom 12:3 "For I say, through the grace that was given to me, to every one who is among you, not to think above what it behoveth to think; but to think so as to think wisely, as to each God did deal a measure of faith," How much faith we have is the amount of faith that is given to us. We don't have to "hold fast" to anything to get more faith.

Fifthly, "But..when we sin, we are putting a consequence into motion that was set before time by God. Sin has consequences that bring death and destruction. Just like dropping a pair of glasses, gravity brings the consequence of them falling to the ground. So is the consequence of sin." This is not a concept of Christianity. The wages of sin is death. Christians do not face any consequences for their sins. There is no condemnation. Granted we may face some kind of consequences for our behavior such as jail time, disease, loss of our job and so on but there are no consequences that come from God toward us.

Sixthly, " Grace is the thing. When the cross is applied to our sins Grace intervenes and stops what we have set into motion by sin." No, that would be MERCY. Grace is the power of God in us that causes us to have the ability to have faith in Him. The rest of the paragraph makes sense. Also, "FAITH says that no matterNO MATTER what life throws at us, we BELIEVE that the Cross of Calvary CAN do what needs to be done in our lives!!" I have no idea what this is supposed to mean. Is the cross what is working in my life? I thought it was the Holy Spirit!! Really? And then "FAITH says that we believe and KNOW God is waiting to UNLEASH his blessings and healings on us." An interesting concept but it isn't in the Bible! And then there is this, "The Cross has the power to raise us from the dead and put us in a place of honor. " The Bible specifically states that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is the power that lives in us! That power would be the power of God. Not the cross! The cross never rose anyone from the dead and never will!! Really?? You listen to someone that preaches this stuff?? Really??

Seventhly, "We need to have Faith that thru the Blood of Jesus, we can go to God and He WILL do a miracle in our lives.!" What miracle or miracles will God do? Isn't the miracle of Salvation enough or what about the miracle of our resurrection and our eternity with Him in glory? Not good enough? What miracle will He do?

Finally, "One Day we will be in the City of God where there is NO sin, NO death, NO doubt and just NO mess! In that day, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.! We need to hold fast to our Faith because the Day of the Lord is coming SOON!!" Finally, something that makes perfect sense to me!!

It is imperative that Christians everywhere, and especially in this country, know and understand their Bible. You cannot take the word of a man to support your faith or your beliefs. You cannot allow a preacher to prey on your ignorance and your hope for something better than what you already have. This is what I was called to do. To point the finger at the man who twists the Truth or fails to ever mention it at all. It would have been nice if this guy had stayed in topic and preached the Work he uses for references rather than something completely out of line with them.

I don't believe everything Hank Hanegraff says but I strongly recommend you read his book, "Christianity in Crisis". I also recommend that you listen more carefully to what you are being told and make sure you check it out with other scriptures. The fact is that the Bible makes sense, it follows a logical train of thought. This guys train is off the track.

1 Corinthians 12:6-9 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit....

These are the 3 gifts I desire most!

I think faith is a gift, or I have always thought it was. And it is a more desirable one than some of the others that get abused or are misunderstood.

MizKJVOnly doesn't respond, only leaves her sermon notes from what appears to be a prosperity preacher, and that ain't good. Maybe we need a new topic on CDFF called sermon notes.

Bible faith and the gift of faith are two different things.

Very good sermon mizKJV, and so true.

Thunder, sorry, but you're rather off course.

FAITH IS A GIFT FROM GOD...

John chapter 3: verse 27: John answered and said , A man can receive nothing. except it be given to him from heaven.

Romans chapter 12:verse 3: For I say, through the grace GIVEN to me, to every person that is among you, not to think of him/herself more highly than he/she ought to think, but to think soberly, according to what God has DEALT (given) to every man the MEASURE (AMOUNT) OF FAITH.

Ephesians chapter 2:verse 8: For by grace are you saved through FAITH, and that not of yourselves, it ( speaking about grace & faith) is the gift of God. (Faith to believe is a gift from God in order to receive the gift of grace which is also from God, one must first have FAITH)

I Corinthians chapter 12 chapter:verses 8-10: For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom, to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit. To another FAITH by the same Spirit, to another the gift of healing, by the same Spirit.

FAITH is not something that we muster up within oursleves, it is a gift from God. Nothing man has is of himself, everything is a free gift from God.

Or else tell me one thing that you have you have, that wasn't given to you BY GOD! There is NOTHING!

Hebrews chapter 12:verse 2: Looking to Jesus the AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF OUR FAITH, who for the joy THAT WAS SET BEFORE HIM ENDURED THE CROSS, DESPISING THE SHAME, AND IS SET DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE THRONE OF GOD.

We can't believe in Jesus Christ without FAITH ACCORDING TO THE MEASURE (AMOUNT) GOD HAS GIVEN TO US. We are also to culitvate(put it into action) in order for our FAITH to grow. Just as the disciples ask of Jesus to INCREASE their FAITH.

This is why FAITH to believe comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. Faith to act comes by endurance... God gives us the GIFT OF FAITH, a smal amount, so that we must increase it , and God takes us from faith to faith helping us to have Great Faith...

It is impossible to please God without FAITH, becasue God has given us the gift of FAITH for us to use. Some people just don't act upon their faith, therefore, it is not put into use, nor does it increase and grows.

1Co 12:7 And to each hath been given the manifestation of the Spirit for profit;

1Co 12:8 for to one through the Spirit hath been given a word of wisdom, and to another a word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit;

1Co 12:9 and to another faith in the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healings in the same Spirit;

1Co 12:10 and to another in-workings of mighty deeds; and to another prophecy; and to another discernings of spirits; and to another divers kinds of tongues; and to another interpretation of tongues:

1Co 12:11 and all these doth work the one and the same Spirit, dividing to each severally as he intendeth.

In the context of this passage there are actually three things that are listed here. 1Co 12:4 And there are diversities of gifts, and the same Spirit;

1Co 12:5 and there are diversities of ministrations, and the same Lord;

1Co 12:6 and there are diversities of workings, and it is the same God--who is working the all in all.

There are gifts, ministrations and workings. So although this list is called the gifts of the Spirit it is not at all a list of only gifts. In this case Faith is not a gift but rather a working.

There are two kinds of faith. The first is the faith that comes by grace and leads one to salvation. This is commonly called faith in Jesus. It is the assent of the mind and spirit to believe, that is to be bound to as in being tied to something. The second kind of faith is a supernatural faith that is about the mind and soul and is a spiritual assention that often is needed in extreme or dire cases. It is a faith that comes through the Spirit and is in the same Spirit that allows one to continue regardless of circumstances or difficulty and not only to carry on but also to preach the doctrine of faith boldly.

This is the working of faith.

Even in the context of the sermon notes faith is not a gift.

:peace: 10/5/10 12:35am

Let me put this as sweetly as possible while making myself plain as can be. I have been saved for almost 20 yrs and have read the bible cover to cover on many occassions. I don't read books or articles or anything else written by man to describe the bible. If I want to know what God says, I go to the Word of God. Period.

Thats one reason why I don't conversate with "certain" people because they have previously tried to send me to a man-written book by somebody who could worship anything: Dog, Tree. whale, sun... whatever!

As Paul says, in the last day, man will twist the scripture to say what man wants it to say. As Paul says man will run after teachers with itching ears, desiring to hear fables and tales. The Devil is always busy trying to insert doubt and always wants you to go outside the Word of God to find instruction on the Word of God. That is not my problem.

Taking sooo...much time and energy to try to discredit scripture and the promises of God makes one question, where is all this energy is really coming from. It makes no sense and is basically as infantille as going to church with no Bible. Thats not my problem either.

I type up my church notes as I've done for decades. I type them and post them on several websites as well as email them to the sick and shut in who miss church service. I email /post Pastor's sermons to spread the gospel outside of church doors. I don't post/email to argue or debate about the Word of God.

God put Pastor Alex in the position to lead my church and I trust God knows what He is doing better than you or me.

And with that.....Goodnight.......

Peace in Jesus

Interesting. You won't read any books written by a "man" (that's ok) but you will listen to a "man" because "you" approve of him. Interesting. And you want people to trust "your" notes (and you are "mankind") from a sermon given by a "man". Interesting. The prosperity gospel is the ear tickling gospel of today. Very interesting.

Peter says men will twist scripture to their own destruction, 2 Peter 3:16. And Paul says man will run after teachers with itching ears, desiring to hear fables and tales. I agree, and that is what the prosperity gospel is, people running after fables and tales leading men and women to their destruction. And I am sure if anyone could convince you from scripture the fallacy with that doctrine it would not change your position. It is another gospel. I find that the most interesting of all. I know this from experience.

Question:

Do you go to church? Did you go to church yesterday?

Question:

Did you take sermon notes? Where is the message that your pastor preached yesterday?

Question:

Where is it? I don't see it? All I hear is yakking about my Pastor and his sermon. Where is yours? I don't see it!

Question:

Do you bother to write 4 pgs of sermon notes in church? Do you bother to come home and type them up? Have you had people in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 thank you for typing/posting/emailing your sermon notes?

Question:

Where are your sermon notes from church??

Ohhh......

do you need time to take the log out of your eye before you can see the splinter in someone else's eye?

Jesus said that too.

:-) :-) THANK YOU JESUS !! I'm going to sleep. :-) :-)

@ Misskjv:

Excuuse me,but your notes are not the Gospel.

They are not even close to being the Gospel of Yeshua.

This is the command and commission of every Born from above believer in Yeshua.

Mat 28:18 And having come near, Jesus spake to them, saying, `Given to me was all authority in heaven and on earth;

Mat 28:19 having gone, then, disciple all the nations, (baptizing them--to the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

Mat 28:20 teaching them to observe all, whatever I did command you,) and lo, I am with you all the days--till the full end of the age.'

Oh,by the way:

The so-called church is not somewhere a person goes to,as though they are going to an event.

I cannot go somewhere that I already am.

I and Thunder,MrRow, and others that are trusting Yeshua,We are the Ekklesia of Yeshua, We The Church.

End of story!

I hope that you will be having a Blessed week.

Shalom and Chesed:

Let's go to a high level of mature spiritual thinking...

God has created man for the sole purpose of coming into the fullness or lokeness of image of His Son Jesus Christ. Therefore, God has given every man born on this earth a measure (amount/portion or teaspoon or tablespoon full) of His attributes/characteristics, which are of His being, His wisdom, His knowledge, His power, His holiness, His everything, His personality.

We are born into the world equipped with qualities, everything God desires for us to have, on the side of our beings /nature in order for us to come into the image of His Son. Some people cultivate these qualities, some people don't. The saints and the sinners all have the same attributes and qualities, given to man instilled within the spirit of man, including the Spirit of the Lord. These things must be activated and developed and cultivated. No person born on this earth is born not being equipped with the Spirit of God on the inside, God tells us this that evreything He has created has His Spirit.

The fruit of God's Spirit comes to life within every believer once they receive Jesus Christ into their hearts, God's Holy Spirit comes in to live. . The fruit of the Spirit are those qualities, attributes, characteristics of Jeuss Christ, His personalitiy, who He is as a person.

The free gift of love, peace, joy, gentleness, meekness, patience, and FAITH are all gifts born within every person on this earth. As these are qualities, attributes of God that He has given to every person born so that we all may come into the image of His Son. It is upon being saved and receiving Christ that the Holy Spirit begans to fully stir up these qualities and develops these characteristics within a believers to the fullness. He begans bring forth these attributes qualuities and the personality of Christ within us,, as a testimony of Christ living on the inside of a believer.

Faith as a gift of the Spirit is speaking about the gift which is not given to every believer just as all the other gifts are not given to every beleiver, this gift of Faith is for thw WORKS of ministry. And this kind if faith works through the power of the Holy Spirit to perform those things requested in ministry.

BUT FAITH that is given as a part of God's character, His attributes, no matter how much a person does or does not believe, or is not saved or have faith in God, this FAITH is a free GIFT from God just as love, grace, mercy, patience, we all have been given thses gifts instilled within us that can be cultivated and developed and is give by God to every person born on earth.

This is the kind of FAITH this sermon is speaking about the kind of faith that is given by God to every person on this earth to live our daily lives, to accomplish great things, to be made whole in our things, so that it may unto us according to the FAITH that works in us. FAITH like Abrhama and our witnesses of FAITH going without knowing where you're going.... FAITH THAT WORKS kinda FAITH.

And this faith is the kind of FAITH that even the sinner has, because it was given as a part of man's nature, as a gift from God to get every man created a chance at life, just as God has given every person born a measure of love, peace and all the other attribute of His image, incluuding His breath, all a gift from God.

Faith that works (endures through circumstances, and makes things happen), FAITH that saves (causes one to believe brings salvation) are all a measured gift from God to every person that is born.

Sorry, This is not financial prosperity teaching as you know it, this is propsperity teaching about FAITH in order to learn how to trust in God in ALL things and grow as spiritually mature Christians in our FAITH..

Again, without putting ones FAITH into action, it is impossible to please God... that's what these message notes are about, making faith work because faith is action.

FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD, AND WORKS WITHOUT FAITH IS DEAD....

Also, you must be able to explain what Paul is speaking about in Romans chapter 12:3 "...God has dealt to every person the measure of FAITH.

Also, Hebrews chapter 12: 2 Jesus the author and finisher of our FAITH, what does all this means?

I wish above all thing that you may prosper, and be in good health, even as your soul prospers... would you say this is prosperity teaching? Or FAITH teaching?
