I'm done participating in this particular forum. As long as Calvin vs Armenians is the topic and pushing personal agendas takes precedence over seeking Truth it's just stupid. I find there are members here who would rather accuse, degrade and point fingers at each other rather than stick to discussing the point. I am sure I may have been guilty of this myself at times but it is getting too routine here so I will no longer participate.

It's starting to feel just like church. Hmmm I wonder why. :dunce:

Thunder... I t makes me sad to hear that. I really looked forward to hearing what you had to say. I do, however, understand your point, and it is frustrating. It's gotten to the point where I don't feel like I want to add anything to what's being said, simply because I just don't wanna get tied up in it again. I wonder how much longer I will be able to put up with this, myself. I hope to see you here again in the future. Thanks for all the help you've given me, dear friend. I wish the best for you. Continue in His ways.

Thunder,

You know, I posted a thread on why people who believe the doctrines of grace are thankful for them. YOU posted on that thread and don't believe them, and I told you that maybe you should at least learn what the five points are, and then post.

You ignored that and posted again, and YOU as an Arminian wanted to debate me on that thread.

I have no problem debating, but that thread was not for that.

You did a LOT of liberal things on that thread, and so I asked you if you were part of the many people today who call themselves Christians, but are really putting the religion of liberalism first, and mixing in some Christian beliefs. And now you say you are done discussing anything?

Interesting. However, I have decided to post on the subject of the modern hidden idolatry of mixing Liberalism and Christianity.

Christians have been debating each other since the beginning, and Arminians have done most of the attacking on this group. I have no problem with that, but as I explained to PhillipJohn and walter, I am ready to discuss many other topics.

Maybe it is time to discuss the quasi-religion of liberalism.

In Christ,

James

Thunder.

that's how I feel too and have not been participating.

I get slammed and accused of being false teacher and heretical. (and either calvinist or armenian)

Your right, it's stupid and IMMATURE.

Sir James,

I normally don't do this, partly because of my personality, partly because of my young age, but also partly because as a sinner I understand that no one is perfect or has EVER been perfect except for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I feel, however, that it has finally come to this. You have crossed a line, man. I'm pointing this out to you so that you may be able to see it for what it is and turn away from it. You are egging it on. On some level, it seems as though you WANT someone to bring the same old arguments back up. Thunder was here to say good-bye, because he was tired of every single thread turning into a religious slamming. Not friendly debate... slamming. And to be honest, I'm tired of it too. It is completely unbiblical... at least the way everyone is going about it. We are supposed to engage people with a spirit of gentleness... humility. We are supposed to listen to the Spirit of God inside of us. This is not happening here. Pride is running rampant. We need to all take a step back and look at the error of our ways so as to fix them. Stop continually bringing the same arguments up. It's OBVIOUSLY not doing any good. Stop insulting people. Even if it's subtle and hidden in sarcasm or "humor". Stop tearing people down. Look up the word "humble" and apply it. In fact... this goes to EVERYONE here. Not just James. We are better than this. Christ didn't die for us so we could continue in our sinful ways. I'd think you all would understand that by now, but it seems you are so wrapped up in "theology" that you are failing to remember why we are all here in the first place.

I've seriously had enough. Grow up, everyone. For real. This is, I guess, my "official" warning. We're Christians. Let's start acting more like it.

And Sir James... sorry to single you out, but I was responding to your reply in this thread. This doesn't just go to you, but to everyone here (CDFF). I hope we can see our error and turn from it before Satan gets a better foothold. Peace be with you.

Thunder,

I feel the same way too.

I thought this was a dating website. The forums should be a way to get to know more about someone that we might consider dating. As it turns out that guys keep the conversation with other guys going round and round the same points. It's not fun to me!

I posted a request for a specific forum on Apologetics, thinking it would give them a separate place to "debate". Maybe sometime that will be added.

That is alright Garrett, and I agree with a lot of what you say.

But my points about arminians egging it on still stand.

I never titled a post "Arminians reign of terror" did I?

That was Walter. He has called Calvinists heretics on this group, and I have never said that.

I said at the beginning to PhillipJohn after he kept badgering me about Calvinism, that I am ready to talk about many other subjects.

I have posted on 4 different subjects since then, but I have no intention of letting the stunted Arminian view go unanswered if they challenge me.

Here is my thought. If you don't want to get involved in the Arminian/Calvinist debate, then don't read those threads. There are PLENTY of others to read, and if hard debating bothers you, and the "boys play too rough", then don't read it.

I consider Arminians to be my brothers and sisters in Christ.

They are inconsistent in their thinking, at best, and rejecting things in Scripture they don't like at the worst, but Brothers and sisters in Christ nonetheless.

In Christ,

James

i'm with Garreth! i refrained from posting a reply to you when i read your post James. and even in your reply to him you seem have missed the point and are still 'talkin crazy!' (in an a american accent )

furthurmore in my reply to your thread about that other forum i also refrained from asking you to go there and don't come back! because the richness of Christ is for all and i have no business telling you that. but i do have a duty as a believer to encourage you if i see you are in err, their seems to be a resemblance to our adversary in the way you reply. i pray that you sincerely seek the Lord and his direction.:prayingf:

:stop: i did not call you the adversary... i said your reply is reminiscent of his tactics!

Like I said, James, it doesn't just apply to a single person. I was just typing what I believe God wants me to say. Read it, pray about it, go to scripture. Please don't ignore it, or skim it and move on.

Im tired of people with double standards on this forum,All Sirjames did was refute the points that thunder made.many times in the past someone has pointed out an error that I made,I didnt pick up my ball and go home.I too tryed to change discussions on here, but someone always drags this one back.It seems that its ok to call the doctrines of grace heresy, but when someone points out the truth about Arminian veiws they are being mean. Its imature to say we cant discuss certain topics because,no fair, someone came back at me with facts,so you want to take away our right to discuss anything!Like Sirjames said.Your not forced to read or respond to a thread if it hurts your feelings or offends you!If you take a veiw in opposition to a post or a veiw thats fine, but be prepared to defend your position.Running to the administration is childish behavior..............In Christ ....Steve

Well it is like this Steve, when you can not, use the word of God as the source, what is the grounds to discuss anything.
