Do you connect the teachings of Jesus to doctrines of men and demons?
Or do you not see a difference between men and demons?
Maybe you consider doctrines automatically demonic?
Or perhaps you think that demons and men have the ability to defeat the Holy Spirit and its Truth?
The answer might be an obvious NOPE but I keep wondering how on earth someone that worships the Lord in Spirit and in Truth comes up with a question like that.
The Bible speaks of the doctrines of men and demons. They are teachings that infiltrate the Church that are opposite of the teachings of Jesus and Scripture. They are mentioned in Col 2:22, Eph 4:14, 1Tim 4:1,6:3.
I think the question here is, Can a person worship in Spirit and Truth if he is believing these teachings?
It's easy to say no but consider this. Many of the churches I have been in do exactly that. They teach the doctrines of men and occasionally demons and still there are good Christian people worshiping in the church.
I think worshiping in Spirit and in Truth is more of a personal thing than it is congregational. We don't have to believe everything we hear from men or demons but we must know the Spirit of Truth in order to worship in it.
I find it amusing that people argue about "doctrines or men". Last time I check I think Paul, John, Peter, James, Jude, Matthew, Mark, Luke and all the other apostles were men along with all the old testament writers.
Did Jesus not promise that the Holy Spirit would come to teach them? To be so arrogant to say the Christian leaders of the last 2,000 years did not understand the Bible better than we do is just plan ignorant! We now understand a few more verse in the fact we have seen the prophecy full filled in that Israel has come together as a nation again but that is about it! If you are thinking that you have a better understanding of the Bible today in our busy life style you are wrong. The great theologians of the past did not have TV, internet, radio conferences, and all the distractions of today.
Martin Luther said I have so much to do today I must spend the first 3 hours in prayer. I would be willing to bet not one person on these forums has spent 3 hours in prayer. I would even be surprise that anyone has prayed 3 hours in a whole day.
I will agree the American church have swayed off that path the path that has been followed the last 2,000 yrs and they are using their 21st century western culture thinking to interpret the Bible, and they are wrong in doing so. Feelings dictate much of today's so called Christian churches.
Let me give you an example:
A husband gets caught committing a crime do we kill or lock up the whole family? Not in America!
In fact the whole idea of a federal head that represents a nation or people or family is unthinkable in our culture. But that is exactly why you can be saved by Jesus Christ death on a cross He is our federal head just like Adam was. Even if a man could have lived his whole life without one sin he would still be damned to hell because of Adams sin. Adam was our federal head his sin condemned the whole human race. But the righteousness of Jesus Christ was enough to cover Adams sin and rescue the human race if we will repent and trust Jesus' sacrifice for our own sins and that of Adams.
Yes there are a lot of bad teaching out there and anything that is not the true gospel is from demons. But God's elect will not follow such teachings because we are sealed and taught by the Holy Spirit.
The question of this thread as I understand it even though it is poorly written is: Can you worship the Lord in spirit and truth following the doctrines of men and demons. The answer: yes and no The doctrines of the right men yes the doctrines of demons no!
I also find it amusing that when a man doesn't agree with another person they use the "doctrines of men" card to justify their own doctrines of men. Just like women will do when you don't agree with them they play the "don't judge me" card. Study to show thy self approved a workman that needs not be ashamed.
To not go to a church for fellowship and worship is not right either, don't be a cowboy christian or a lone ranger, there are tares and goats in all the churches but we should not be surprise about that. And there are many churches that feed the goats while the sheep are starving but that is no excuse for not being in a church.
And people let's start acting like we have a clue and come to the boards with a legitimate argument and let's lose the cry baby attitude of "don't judge" or "I worship God not man" God has given man HIS doctrine to pass along, but the devil has given his doctrine also so we need to filter everything through the Bible to find truth. Lose the presuppositions and let the Bible objectively tell you what it says instead of reading subjectively and smash you idea into it. That is if you are actually reading it!!!
I just was very amazed that one could just glue worshipping the Lord in Spirit and in Truth, which seems the purest thing to me, to such an impure thing as doctrines that come from men and demons and then on top of that, ask if it were possible.
To me, it seemed like asking the obvious. And now I am suppose to think that these people actually exist? Just do not tell me that they are in other denominational churches than yourself please because than I would be, after all this shouting and condemning on this forum, really really depressed and confused.
So Thunder you have to help me with this one. If I am keeping the rest of the people off level, then please private message me.
Nice again, Thunder. The doctrines that are the bad demon ones are the really weird ones. Like...Jesus didn't really die for our sins...or...Jesus wasn't God...stuff like that. Predestination...free will....all that krap...should have nothing to do with our personal salvation or building our Christ-like character. We make it a big deal because we all believe we have the truth...but...who's to say we do? Unless God steps in?(which He will):prayingm::rocknroll:
