E.G. White - Failed Prophecies

Ellen G. White is no more a prophetess than Barack Obama is a Rocket Scientist. http://www.bible.ca/7-prophecy-blunders.htm

To be a prophet or prophetess the person needs to be correct 100% of the time. If they are correct 99.9% of the time they have failed the test of a prophet.

Yet the SDA's continue in their deception and walk in denial to the truth. You can show them point blank White's false teachings and failed prophecies and they still continue in their deception. That's how deception works because the person who is deceived doesn't even know it.

"Eggs should not be placed upon your table. They are an injury to your children" (Vol. 2, p. 400). "We bare positive testimony against tobacco, rich cakes, spirituous liquors, snuff, tea, coffee, flesh meats, butter, spice, mince pies..." (Vol. 3, p. 21)."Children are allowed to eat flesh meats, spices, butter, cheese, pork, rich pastry...These things do their work of deranging the stomach" (Vol. 3, p. 136). Mrs. White places "meat, butter and cheese" in the same category as tobacco, liquor, etc. This, is contrary to the Bible for Jesus Himself ate fish (Luke 24:41-43). In John 21:9-12 we find that Jesus Himself prepared flesh meat and said to His disciples, "Come and eat." The Bible tells us that Jesus ate butter (Isaiah 7:15) Mrs. White said, "Do not eat" but Jesus said, "Come and dine". Paul said, "In the latter times some shall depart from the faith...commanding to abstain from meats which God had created to be received" (1 Timothy 4:3).

E.G. White was the person who named a date that Jesus would return and a whole lot of people starting following her. That following is what is now known as the Seventh Day Adventists. An entire denomination was formed from her teachings.

How can something that begins as a lie or false statement then become true or right? It cannot. It must be completely changed.

Every time a student from the Seventh Day Adventists' church comes around me to sell items to raise money, I tell them I will buy an item from them but in return they have to agree to listen to me for 5 minutes. They always agree. I explain to them about the start of the Seventh Day Adventist church and ask them the question I posed above. Most of these youth I have talked with do not know or do not understand the beginning of their denomination. I tell them that they do not have to provide an answer to that question to me, but that their eternal salvation hinges on what they accept as Truth. I advise them to consider what I have told them and encourage them to search it out for themselves.

Jonah? His prophecy failed to come true...even though he did say what God wanted him to say...even though God knew they would repent. God used Jonah to turn the people to Him. Anyway...I read through the stuff on the website...and before I got past the first three I could see it was going to be misquotes and out of context, but I'm not even going to argue. Believe what you believe to be the truth, and I'll do the same.

I attended a 6 week "Prophesy" Conference at the Seventh Day Adventist church several years ago. The way I learned of their church history was in that conference. The Seventh Day Adventist preacher/evangelist told the story from the pulpit.

I am guessing some of this post got censored. (deleted)

River you are spot on that humans are going to make mistakes, but the bible says clearly that if someone claims to be a prophet from God they will be 100% right and if they are ever wrong then take them out of the camp and stone them. So I don't have to watch what I say about a false prophet cause they are NOT God's anointed.

So my BIG question is why are we not stoning peopl who claim to be prophets when they are wrong?

I don't know about the SDA prophet, but what about all those prophets foresaying about Jesus? I mean before He was born, there were chances that the prophets could have been wrong. And there are prophets who said that all of Israel (and not only Juda) will return, which obviously hasn't happened yet...

Another thing about Jesus prophecy: Wasn't Isaiah wrong about the name, speaking of Immanuel? I mean, if you take him literally...

I think sometimes things are not as black and white as it first seems, but again, I have no knowledge of this SDA person.

God bless you all

Abedjau what do you mean when you say that Isaiah was wrong about the name Immanuel? Sometimes in a translation we lose something too, I doubt he was wrong about the name Christ would have when he came to this earth. We've since then called him various things, in the english we know him as Jesus, in Hebrew he might be called Yeshua, or Yahushua.

prophets are 100% right, 100% of the time.

There are obviously prophesies in the bible which are yet to be fulfilled, but I refer to God/Jesus as Immanuel(God is with us) because I understand that Jesus was the tangible God; He was made flesh, but was the very essence/reflection/content and wholly and solely GOD.

Ellen G White as far as i understand was not the "prophet" who made those claims. William Miller was, and the movement was referred to as the Millerite movement. As far as i know, all three predictions of Christ's second coming failed, and before he died he repented of his false teachings. Ellen G White was indeed a follower of this movement which evolved into the S.D.A church.

I do know however that she said some things that made her sound like a false prophet. Claiming to have been shown certain things, and saying it with surety which when aligned with the word of God proved to be erroneous...

I would not encourage anyone to follow anyone's word but God's. Some S.D.A's preach E.G White from the pulpit as some other denominations preach Christ! And also along with Christ! I have witnessed this firsthand, I do not agree with it because erroneous information leads to a faulty foundation and a crumbling house...

I'll tell you like Paul told me in 2 Timothy 2:15 "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth"

I have studied SDAism and have had a few SDA friends. I learned a great deal about natural health and healing from them. E.G. White's comments about food have nothing to do with prophecy. In fact if a person were to take the time to study how the human body digests food and uses it to fuel itself they would understand that meats and dairy, in fact all animal proteins, are harmful to us. (Not to mention tobacco and alcohol, rich foods, and animal fat) Our bodies are not designed to digest these things and they are toxic to us because they are acid ash foods and create an acidic environment for our cells to live in when they can only survive in an alkaline environment. There was a reason God told Noah to eat meat and it was because there was nothing else to eat. I believe mankind did not eat meat prior to the period after the flood. I eat some meat now but I don't eat as much as I used to and I refuse to eat pork. I only eat certain kinds of fish and my chicken is usually cage free and organic. I also eat cage free, organic eggs and organic cheeses. I say all things in moderation.
