Regarding some recent discussions...

I know Ole Cattle has already hit on this on a few threads, but I wanted to draw more attention to what he said simply because I imagine a lot of people stopped reading the LONG arguments before seeing what was said. The longer I've been on these forums, the more I've seen it. Instead of encouraging each other, many people get sucked into "heated" debates with one another. It's happened to me on occasion. Sometimes I catch myself before... sometimes I let loose. It's a matter of self-control, as well as a few other fruits of the Spirit. I hope that we can try and revert to our peaceful discussions with one another. I know that not everyone agrees with everyone else on here, but we are ALL believers in Christ Jesus, and we are ALL equally loved by God. Let us treat each other with a little more respect. I'm not saying to refrain from sharing your opinions! Just be careful how you do so. Be considerate. And... keep Titus 3 verses 9 and 10 in mind. Saying the same thing over and over again probably won't change anyone's mind. (It won't change THIS hard-headed mind, anyways! lol) Peace and Love to everyone here.

JF/Garrett.... thank you for this post. I do enjoy exchanging our thoughts together in this forum, however, I don't like what has happened here lately. I have refrained from posting in this area because of exactly what you stated and Cattleman eluded to prior.

We all need help sometime understanding things we don't understand about the Word of God, and we DO need each other, and we DO help each other most of the time with interpretation in a positive way, and straightening out our trains of thoughts on most things pretty peacefully.

When I first joined the site, I had an energy to share and pose questions for pondering to all, just to get a feel for what others were feeling and experiencing from the word of God and to help me and keep me stimulated. I still do, but now I kinda look at what's brewing before I post stuff now.

I never want to get to the place where I'm feeling intimidated by other folk, which, from the looks of recent threads and posting in them.... is a present common denominator. So, I have thought twice, and I know I should not have that attitude.

As children of God, we do all have a responsibility to share with one another, exchange, and as you stated "respect" others views and opinions without tearing others down in the process. Fruits of the spirt.... yes .... VERY KEY POINT made. Thank you.

LOL. Y'all should have been here about a year or so ago. There was an older Charismatic woman that would get extremely personal and insulting if anyone dared to disagree with her.

Her favorite name for others was kool-aide drinkers. LOL. She finally got so bad that we all just acted like she wasn't there. We continued to post as if she wasn't posting, too. After about 3 days she had enough and left.

My point is, this is minor compared to real arguing. People are passionate about their beliefs, and if they are not....something is wrong. I didn't even realize I was out of line until Cattle said something, so I apologized to keep the peace. Of course the woman I described was before cattle's time.

I do get out of hand occasionally, but I do love y'all and don't mean anything by it. To be honest, I am not used to Christians being so sensitive when discussing Bible issues.

Blessings,

leon

Grace Mae, I was actually wondering about you not posting as much the other day. I always liked reading your responses. I thought you might've left the site or something. I'm glad to hear that wasn't the case. I hope to be able to talk with you more in time.

I have been and will probably continue to be a "brute" and a "bully" sometimes. I appologize for my behaviour. Some of us here have been "warriors" in some form or other and we tend to "lose" our civility at times, but I cannot help but point out a situation where a Man of Peace (who is widely renowned for His Love and Compassion) overturned tables (He sent them FLYING!) and Violently made His Point!

The Ewes in the flock are usually quite tame and nonconfrontational. It is the Rams that end up butting heads...wanting to be the only "man on the block".

I would be remiss if I did not point out what I felt was an error in my brother's thinking. Perhaps there should be a place in The Forum where debate could go on and those that might be offended or have their "sensibilties" distrubed would just stay away from that area.

Again...I want to appologize to all that I have offended. My "flippant" remarks have sent me to many a principal's office and I am sure Jesus will have me "in the corner" thinking about what I said, but...the passion that takes me to that edge (and often over it), is the same passion that has saved my life and the lives of others and that "drives" me to "snap off the heads of fast moving lies".

So...with that being said I want to appologize in advance for future pecadillos (no...not the four legged kind).

Thanks Ole Cattle for holding me back! "I'll huff! and I'll puff!" "COURAGE!" "If I were the King of the Forest!"

archimedes I have never read anything you posted that was offensive, you make me giggle sometimes. it's others that like to put down denominations. Like Mr Martin just did. I happen to be charismatic by the way and the way you just spoke about that woman and how you all ignored her posts is horrible. There is always going to be someone that you guys dont like because they dont follow your beliefs or some "charismatic woman" that you want to ignore. Maybe God is trying to teach you something, ever thought of that? Maybe He wants to teach you how to love others and yes, maybe sing kumbaya...

I think debates are ok, but arguing back and forth isnt going to make someone else go "Oh yeah now I get it" especially the way it's force fed here.

Ladies maybe we need our own area where we can encourage and love one another, pray for each others need and be silly. let the men work out their testosterone in their area. Oh yeah, this is a dating site, we're supposed to mingle, huh who would've thought?

well I have no hard feelings toward anyone, like our brother said, we are all lovers of the Lord and He loves us the same. Like someone once said "Can't we all just get along?"

Love and blessings,

Jennifer

Jennifer,

I am sorry you took offense at what I wrote, but you are way off base with me bashing Charismatics. I went to a Pentecostal Bible College. LOL. I do not agree with all their teachings, but neither do I agree with all of anyone's teachings that I have ever studied.

You are confusing me with my friend Walter. I could tell by the wording of your post.

The woman I was speaking of went on rants and called people very ungodly names regularly. She picked fights from one end of this forum to the other. It was not one or two people who ignored her, but the entire forum.

I have never been on any forum where the bible study part was all lovey dovey. I don't see how it could possibly ever be. Some of the most loving, gentle Pastors out there will fist fight you over the rapture theory. I know it makes no sense, but it is the truth.

Love and grace,

Leon

Oh My...JF~Grace~Arch~River & All...Thank you all so very much for this post...I must admit to my fellow sisters an brothers that I personally have taken a step back from posting in these sections due to the harshness found within them...Beakering is not of GOD and serves no purpose except to cause discord amongst the Lord's children...Which it has...I've said this before an I will say it again..."We serve the Most High GOD...Let "US" act accordingly"....

Yall hava God filled and Blessed day...

In Christ.....xo

dear folks, i am so glad to see your words here. and know that this type of behavior wont be tolerated here and we are gonna change it.. so far a few folks have listened and im so glad they did.. i like to see folks have a chance to turn it around..

everyone sometimes are so passionate about what they believe to be the truth that they sometimes step over the line.. that happens.. and then theyre spoken to.. and hopefully they change back and dont let it become a pattern.. cause thats not acceptable..

i dont like anyone not bein able to enjoy theirselves here..

so know that youre not speakin on deaf ears here.. it will be taken care of.. remember it takes a little time sometimes as folks do recieve a chance to turn it around..

and jennifer i can tell you it wasnt leons intention to be insulting charasmatics there.. it just happened that was her denomination.. he wasnt speakin ill of you there in that post.

as we all know there is good and bad in all denominations..

and folks i thank each of you for bein here and i thank GOD for all the wonderful people here on the site..

Jennifer,

I don't really like Kumbuya, can we sing They Will Know We are Christians by Our Love instead?

Blessings,

Leon
