1 Peter 3:4 tells us that, âYou should be known for the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.â Remember, Jesus was meek (humble) and lowly in heart (Matthew 11:29). In saying this, I have to ask the question, âAre you quiet and gentle all the time or do you need a little work in this department?â
Iâd say that we all need a little taming of the tiger within us and an extra lesson on humility! Trust me. Godâs already begun the process in me. But letâs go a little deeper. Are you one that goes off when youâre angry (outburst of anger)? Do you get upset when you donât have your way and express it? Do you disrespect your authority, because they just donât understand your position or where youâre coming from? Or are you a little rough in your dealings of how you work, instruct, help, or nurture the people around you? Be honest, because these are some healthy self-examination questions to ask yourself in your spare time, especially if you want God to exalt you or change your current situation.
Iâll admit that Iâve missed the mark on this one at times. Sometimes Iâve gotten a little snappy with authority, or may not have been as gentle in my dealings. However, when Iâve made these mistakes, Iâve gone to God about it quickly to confess my fault, ask of His forgiveness and repent of it. HintâŠwhen you begin walking closer to God youâll begin to recognize your errors more rapidly, and take care of it quickly. So if we want to see deliverance take place in our lives and experience God-ordained promotions, then we need to take heed to what 1 Peter 5:6 says, âHumble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.â & Proverbs 15:33, "Fear of the Lord teaches a person to be wise; humility precedes honor."

God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble
Pride is celebrated in our world. People proudly flaunt their accomplishments, possessions, or qualities they deem admirable in expectation of praise. Yet, selfish pride is a hindrance to salvation and to a fruitful relationship with God and others. James warns us about this self-focused pride when he writes, âGod opposes the proud but gives grace to the humbleâ (James 4:6, NLT).
In warning against pride and promoting humility, James quotes the Septuagint translation of Proverbs 3:34. Of course, James is not referring to âprideâ as in the satisfaction of a job well done (Galatians 6:4) or to the kind of pride one expresses over the accomplishment of loved ones (2 Corinthians 7:4). He is referring to the kind of pride that stems from self-righteousness or conceit.
God opposes the proud because pride is sinful and a hindrance to seeking Him. Those who insist on elevating themselves and refusing to trust God as sovereign, good, and trustworthy will find their way opposed by God. Psalm 10:4 explains that the proud are so consumed with themselves that they make no room for God. The ESV words it like this: âIn the pride of his face the wicked does not seek him; all his thoughts are, âThere is no God.ââ The supremacy of God and the fact that we can do nothing to inherit eternal life apart from Christ is a stumbling block for prideful people. God will oppose those attempting to be the god of their own lives. Pride refuses to bend the knee to God or repent of sin, and that keeps many people from salvation.
In contrast to Godâs opposition to the proud is Godâs grace to the humble. Those who humble themselves find Godâs favor: âThough the LORD is great, he cares for the humbleâ (Psalm 138:6, NLT). God shows His favor to those with a right viewâa humble viewâof themselves, and He promises them restoration: âI live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contriteâ (Isaiah 57:15; cf. James 4:10). Note that humility in this passage is related to contrition, or repentance.
Pride can also hinder our relationship with God and others even after we are saved. In his letter, James addresses an issue among the believers, namely, their quarrels and strife with one another. The source of the issue was selfish pride. Pride negatively affects our relationships because it inflates our view of self and deflates our view of God and others. In the midst of addressing this issue, James quotes Proverbs 3:34: âGod opposes the proud but gives grace to the humbleâ (ESV).
Exalting ourselves pushes God out of His rightful place in our lives, and He will humble us âbecause the Lord disciplines the one he lovesâ (Hebrews 12:6). As we humble ourselves, He âgives grace generouslyâ (James 4:6, NLT). God gives us grace that is sufficient to meet every need we have and every sin we face, if we are humble enough to receive it. As we decide whether we will elevate ourselves or turn to God, we must remember that God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. God calls us to repent of self-righteousness, selfish demands, and proud exaltation and instead âsubmit [ourselves], then, to Godâ (James 4:7).
In a world that champions pride, Jesus commands believers to be different. Each believer is called to âlook not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of othersâ (Philippians 2:4, ESV). As we humble ourselves, we will experience Godâs grace and the rewards He promises: âFor everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exaltedâ (Luke 14:11). Since God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble, may we live humble lives in the fear of the Lord (Micah 6:8).

What does it mean to be a man of God?
âMan of Godâ is the description given to a man that follows God in every way, who obeys His commands with joy, who does not live for the things of this life but for the things of eternity, who willingly serves his God in giving freely of all his resources yet gladly suffers as a consequence of his faith. Perhaps Micah 6:8 sums up the man of God in one neat verse: âHe has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.â
The man of God does not swindle or defraud his employer by turning up late for work or spending an hour on the internet during work hours; he doesnât gossip or slander; he keeps his mind and heart pure by guarding his eyes and ears from the filth of the world; he is the spiritual leader of his family. He does everything opposite to what the world does or approves of; he goes "against the grain" of society because he knows these things displease God; he considers those who are "disadvantaged" or those rejected by society, those who are lonely or despairing; he is a listener to other peopleâs problems and does not judge.
Most of all, the man of God understands that when our Lord commanded him to "be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect" (Matthew 5:48), he is only able to accomplish that because God enables him to be âholy and blameless in his sightâ (Ephesians 1:4) through His power and the indwelling of His Spirit. On our own, we are incapable of holiness and perfection, but through Christ who strengthens us, we can "do all things" (Philippians 4:13). The man of God knows that his new nature is that of the righteousness of Christ which was exchanged for our sinful nature at the cross (2 Corinthians 5:17; Philippians 3:9). The final result is that he walks humbly with his God, knowing that he must rely solely upon Him to be able to live to the full and persevere to the end.
Perhaps the Christian today is lacking in these qualities, but this is what simple religion is all aboutâthe simple religion that is yet sufficient to please God: helping those in distress and keeping oneself from being polluted by the world (James 1:23). We can have an awareness of all biblical doctrines, we can know all the theological terms, we may be able to translate the Bible from the original Greek and so on, but the principle of Micah 6:8 is the principle that the man of God must follow: act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.

I'm not sure how many others see the mental issues you are suffering from. You are completely unreasonable and impossible to talk to you. You just repeat the same dishonest insults.
Quite frankly you need help, but in your usual unreasonable manner you reject all offers for help. There are some very knowledgeable Christian men that could help you with the Bible and all it contains. I'm sure HomlessChristian would be happy to help and even Littledavid would help if asked. I leave myself out because they both have much more scriptural knowledge then I have. My expertise is more on the secular relationship aspect which is also become apart of the Church.
MoonLight please seek help. It's here just for the asking.
