Consider how popular the book Jesus Calling is when it is pure blasphemy. Justin Peters does a great job of quickly exposing these awful teachers. A popular passage they abuse is John 10:27: My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. But they can’t be bothered to read the passage in context. Consider the following: John 10:6 clearly teaches that this “voice” is a figure of speech, but they can’t be bothered to read in context. John 10:6 This figure of speech Jesus used with them, but they did not understand what he was saying to them. This passage is about salvation. We are saved after “hearing his voice,” but it isn’t audible. The Jews literally heard his voice but didn’t respond. If only the false teachers would consider that! They were right there in front of the physical Jesus and hearing every word audibly, but still, they rejected him. The sheep hear because of what the Father does, not because of their holiness, practice, or spiritual disciplines. The video also has Matt Chandler’s bizarre shark/pirate story. That message went to his entire church plus thousand more who listen to his Podcasts. It makes Christians look foolish. As Justin Peters says, if you want to hear from God, read the Bible. If you want to hear from him audibly, read it out loud. But these wolves are too busy doing Satan’s work and making you avoid scripture while inventing your own messages from God. The lack of discernment is sickening. And yes, when the disciples asked Jesus how to pray, He gave them the Lord’s Prayer and said nothing about listening for a response from God. If prayer was a two-way street, that would have been a good time to tell us (or in any other of the 31,000+ verses). God told me (in the Bible)* to tell these wolves that He isn’t talking to them outside the Bible. *emphasis Post Reply

Quiz, which is easier for the Holy Spirit to do—speak or perform a miracle? Here’s some miracle ideas for you that will definitely prove you are hearing from God the Holy Spirit and receiving new revelation from him. You could instantaneously raise some people from the dead. You could instantaneously heal some quadriplegics You could instantaneously heal a bunch of people born blind You could instantaneously heal the deaf Tell the devil what to do You could also try to walk on water and try to calm a raging storm Anyway. Now Dave, show everyone here that you actually read and study the Scriptures yourself, post something revealed to you by the Holy Spirit, do not copy and paste anthing from a Bible study site, just from your own study of the Scriptures. The UNholy spirit who speaks to you has convinced you that he is the real Holy Spirit. When will you finally obey the real Holy Spirit who has reveled himself in the Bible and who has commanded all of us to test the spirits to see if they are really from God the real Holy Spirit?
