Calling out sinPosted : 28 Jan, 2022 11:13 AMSometimes on YouTube I watch some evangelical preachers and teachers who talks about a lot of the things going on in the world and just how it’s getting. I like what I hear from them for the most part because they preach and teach from the Bible. But I do notice some of tend to talk about certain celebrities that are supposedly “saved” and they tend call out certain sins that these people do or that they speak. Personally I think that’s a dangerous thing to do if you’re a christian, because if you’re not careful you may find yourself in the mindset that you think that everyone is a sinner but you and that’s not a good mindset to be in. Because even though you are saved you are still in a sinful body. Just because someone commits a sin worser than you doesn’t mean their sins are greater your’s. In the end sin is sin, and no matter how big or small it’s all the same. No person’s sin is greater than other person’s. That’s why I think it’s, not really wrong, but unwise to make a person’s sin public. Do I believe we should call sin though? Yes. But in private. It’s not our duties to make another person’s sin public to make an example out of them or something. I believe that’s the Lord’s job to do. He can make a person’s sins known. I know what you might be asking “What exactly should we do when we see someone sin?”. The answer, pray. Pray the will give them conviction and pray that they will ask the Lord for forgiveness. Because remember, even though we might be saved (I don’t know rest of your hearts only my own) we aren’t perfect, and believe it or not we can still sin and fall away from God. That’s why we should always be in prayer and constantly in the word of God. I know it’s frustrating when you hear someone say something or see someone do something against God, and that’s fine, I personally get that way myself, but instead of being like Peter, drawing our swords and cutting off the ears of our enemies, we should be more like Jesus and ask God to forgive them, because they know not what they do. |

Calling out sinPosted : 29 Jan, 2022 08:36 AMQuiznos, you’re confused. I’m not saying that believers are sinners, but the bodies they are in are sinful. When God saves someone He doesn’t save the body, He saves the soul, and when you the body dies it goes back to the dust of the earth. But just because one gets saved it doesn’t make them perfect and doesn’t make them any better than those that are not saved. Those that are saved are better off than those that aren’t, but not better than they are. Also Quiznos it takes more than just believing in God to be saved. You do have to be willing to confess all of your sins to the Lord and you have to be willing to give those sins up. And lastly, about forgiveness, you mention Isaiah 53, but John 1:9 says “ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”. Acts 3:9 also says “Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out.”. |

Calling out sinPosted : 29 Jan, 2022 08:51 PMQuiz, like you say: the teachings of men are hardly worth comparing to the word of God—AND you just handed me a bucket of a man’s foolish teachings. |

Calling out sinPosted : 29 Jan, 2022 10:08 PMQuiznos, Isaiah 53 doesn’t say God has already forgiven us of sins, Isaiah 53 is about Jesus. And how can man understand this life from God’s view. Man isn’t God. Man can’t view the same way God can. |
