In the Scriptures there were no names for each day, they were numbered, the first day, second, third etc.

Then where did the names come from.

The web site did not copy correctly.

Question: Where did the names of the days of the week come from?

Answer: The Babylonians tracked the Sun, Moon, and the five planetary bodies known to them. They believed that each of these seven celestial bodies was ruled by a god or goddess, who also shaped events on Earth. In the seven-day week of the Babylonian calendar, each day was influenced by a particular god or goddess.

Greeks from the Hellenistic period also created a seven-day “planetary” week, naming the days after their own deities (Helios, Selene, Ares, Hermes, Zeus, Aphrodite, Cronos).

The Jewish week was (and still is) also divided into seven days, but instead of being based on the planets, this system was tied to the account of Creation in the Hebrew Bible. These days had numbers, not names, with the seventh day being the Sabbath.

Influenced by these cultures and ideas, the ancient Romans eventually dropped their eight-day week and adopted a seven-day week, basing the day names on the known planets, Sun, and Moon and their own deities. This seven-day week system spread to other civilizations, which sometimes adjusted the names to their own language and beliefs.

In Old English, “Sunday” comes from Sunnandaeg, or Sun’s day, followed by “Monday” which stems from Monandaeg, or Moon’s day. The rest of the day names with which we are familiar stem from Anglo-Saxon names for gods in Teutonic mythology. Tuesday, or Tiwesdaeg, comes from Tiu, or Tiw, the Anglo-Saxon name for Tyr, the Norse god of war. Wednesday, or Wodnesdaeg, refers to Woden, or Odin, the supreme deity. Similarly, Thursday, Thursdaeg, originates from Thor, the god of thunder (corresponding to the Roman god Jupiter, or Jove). Friday, or Frigedaeg, is derived from Frigga, the wife of Woden and goddess of love and marriage. Saturday, or Saeterndaeg, refers to Saturn, the ancient Roman god of agriculture, fun, and feasting.

@Moon,

Moon, yes i know man is responsible for naming the days, BUT the real question would by WHY.

Since the garden, men and women have been seduced by the enemy of GOD Almighty to change everything that GOD Almighty has revealed about Himself, man and His Word.

Many times throughout the Scriptures man is told 'Not to change what GOD Almighty has said.

The first time man changed what GOD Almighty said was in the garden, as Adam told Eve not to 'Touch' the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden, or they would die.

Since that time man wants to change what GOD Almighty says.

Remember the times Messiah said 'If you love me 'KEEP' my word.

Throughout the years people have been told that the Emglish word 'keep' means to obey, yet it really means 'Not to change, to guard, or to keep in tact'.

Why does GOD Almighty say not to change His Word, when we change His word, then it is no longer His Word.

When His Word is changed, He no longer takes responsibility for what is not His Word.

Isaiah 55 verses 8 - 11

8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,”declares the LORD.

9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth,so My ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.

10 For just as rain and snow fall from heaven and do not return without watering the earth, making it bud and sprout, and providing seed to sow and food to eat,

11 so My word that proceeds from My mouth will not return to Me empty, but it will accomplish what I please, and it will prosper where I send it.

When we change what has been recorded in the Hebrew and Greek Scriptures, GOD Almighty is not responsible for what happens, man is.

Yet in mercy,GOD Almighty does not let man reap the full consequences of their rebellion by changing His Word.

Psalm 118:24-26

24 This day belongs to the Lord!

Let’s celebrate

and be glad today.

25 We’ll ask the Lord to save us!

We’ll sincerely ask the Lord

to let us win.

26 God bless the one who comes

in the name of the Lord!

We praise you from here

in the house of the Lord

@rsvp,

Yepper, everyday the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh....

Worship eminates from within the individual believer,as the believer is the temple of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is the presence of GOD Almighty in the believer, that is why the so called ' band ' is not necessary, or of GOD Almighty, but is of the enemy to keep the sheeple from knowing the truth about what Worship/Worthship is.

Singing Praises and playing instruments in church worship is not against God's approval.

Especially if the worship is Sprit filled !

Not Worldly music.

Study the Book of Psalm.

@Moon,

Moon, again you want to defend why it is okay for man to change what GOD Almighty has recorded in His Word.

Moon, where in the Hebrew or Greek Scriptures will we find the names of the days of the week.

GOD Almighty numbered the days, the enemy enticesan to change what GOD Almighty says.

GOD Almighty says the first day.

Man calls it Moonsday

GOD,the second day.

Man, tiws day

GOD,the third day

Man, Woden's day

GOD, fourth day

Man, Thors day

GOD fifth day

Man, Freya's day

GOD, Sixth day

Man, Saturnsday

GOD,seventh day

Man, Sunsday

Seems to me man has changed more than the days of the week, man has also removed the name(s) of GOD Almighty from the Old and New covenants and replaced them with the titles of LORD,Lord and God.

Moon, remember,GOD Almighty-El Shaddia is not responsible for what does not belong to Him.
