Posted : 5 Oct, 2020 06:27 PM Cutting down the dissonance: the psychology of gullibility Christina Valhouli T wo years ago, 14-year-old Nathan Zohner, a student at Eagle Rock Junior High in Idaho Falls, announced on the Internet that he had circulated a petition demanding strict control of a chemical known as dihydrogen monoxide. This substance, he wrote, caused excessive sweating and vomiting, can be lethal if accidentally inhaled, contributes to erosion, and has been found in tumors of cancer patients. The student asked 50 people whether they supported the ban. Forty-three said yes, six were undecided, and only one knew that dihydrogen monoxide was... water. While embracing a ban on H2O seems more foolish than dangerous, this anecdote shows how quickly people embrace some kinds of ideas without subjecting them to critical scrutiny. The human propensity to accept ideas at face value--no matter how illogical--is the fertile soil in which pseudoscience grows. Post Reply

Some gullible Christians believe Jesus suffered in hell just because Joy Meyer and Kenneth Copeland told them so 2. Many gullible Christians believe God speaks directly to them just because someone told them so or because some one told them the voice inside their head is really God speaking 3. Many gullible Christians believe that imitation miracles are really equal to the real miracles performed by Jesus because a fake healer told them so 4. Some gullible Christians believe gibberish is a real language (a tongue) just because someone told them so 5. Many gullible Christians believe the theory of evolution is real science just because someone told them so 6. Often gullible Christians cannot discern the difference between science and the opinion of secular humanist who are scientists 7. Some gullible Christians believe the ages of the earth and universe is in the billions of years because either a secular humanist or another gullible Christian who believes the secular humanist told them so 8. Some gullible Christians believe that there were people on the earth before Adam and Eve just because an evolutionist or a gullible Christian who believes the evolutionist told them so 9. Some gullible Christians believe people and animals were already dying years before Adam and Eve were created because an evolutionist or another gullible Christian who believes the evolutionist told them so 10. Some gullible Christians believe abortion is simply a matter of opinion because another gullible Christian or a gullible professor told them so 11. Some gullible Christina believe everything in the news because everything in the news must be true. I would be up all night or longer if I were to catalog all the other silly beliefs of gullible Christians It’s time for Christians to take their faith seriously and stop being so unbiblical and ignorant Post Reply

Posted : 6 Oct, 2020 03:10 PM I'm not convinced that anything touched by a human hand is 100% true including the King James Bible translation, especially considering he also published Demonology which covers the basics of witchcraft, necromancy, possession, demons, were-wolves, fairies and ghosts, in the form of a Socratic dialogue. Available on Amazon by the way. However despite the translation perhaps not being 100% I believe the main body (the gospel) and that there is enough there to set you on the right road. I'm not convinced people such as Methusla lived hundreds of years (969 is a Masonic number relating to Saturn and arches). I'm also not convinced that history books are not doctored every couple of hundred years or so to fit the control narrative for the rulers of the time. Seems strange that the population and technology just happened to make huge leaps in the last 150 years or so. I personally think that humans have always developed and multiplied at a fast rate, either time frames have been altered or huge swathes of people have been killed at various points through history to restore order. Death from disease is barely a factor mentioned in the Bible so it has either been manufactured or didn't even happen. I don't know anyone who knows anyone that has died of AIDS, SARS, Bird Flu, CV19, Mad Cow Disease or anything other than cancers or heart failure which will be as a result of poor diet and a lifestyle of being surrounded by electrical signals which adversely affect the brain and heart. Old people say that dementure pretty much did not exist 50 years ago, heart attacks and cancer was far less common and from what I can make out there have always been old people. I doubt anyone below age 50 will see much past 70 with the poisons in the air, food and water. Once 5G is up and running life expectancy will go down over night. I base my belief on what I see around me, what I research and what makes sense. The world wants you to believe that the end times are a long way off when in fact they might start tomorrow. You forgot the most gullible thing Christians do. Keep giving money to false prophets and preachers!! Nobody is buying the stairway to heaven. Post Reply
