I have a red flag feeling when I see the word "trinity".

I find it can be traced back to Tertullian's vain philosophies and deceit that Paul warns about. Who knows where Tertullian got it but the trinity is not a new doctrine , it can be seen in Babylon with Baal, Ishtar and Tammuz. Christian theology was largely organized and nurtured in the schools of Alexandria, and Alexandria was not only the meeting place of East and West, it was also the place where the decrepit theology of Egypt was revivified by contact with the speculative philosophy of Greece. The library at Alexandria burned and the first person blamed for the destruction is none other than Julius Caesar himself. In 48 BC, Caesar was pursuing Pompey into Egypt when he was suddenly cut off by an Egyptian fleet at Alexandria.

This however is what I do believe about the Godhead..

Genesis 1 God created....

Exodus 3:4 I AM

Isaiah 43 :1-2, 10-15 Redeemer, no Savior beside me.

Isaiah 46:9-11 No other God , end from beginning

Isaiah 49:16 I have inscribed you on my palms.

John 1:1-14 In the beginning was the Word and the Word....

John 8:58 Before Abraham was , I AM.

John 14:9-11 He that has seen me has seen the Father.

John 1:18 in the bosom of the Father

Colossians 2:9 ALL the fullness of the Godhead bodily

1 Corinthians 8:6 For us there is ONE God, the FATHER.

1 Timothy 3:16 God manifest in the flesh.

Job 38 Full chapter

For you Calvinists:

Coram Deo

John Calvin says, “[The] Father and Son and Spirit are one God, yet the Son is not the Father, nor the Spirit the Son, but … they are differentiated by a peculiar quality” (Institutes 1.13.5). The Father is God, the Son is God, and the Spirit is God, but the Father is not the Son or Spirit, the Son is not the Father or Spirit, and the Spirit is not the Father or Son. This is the heart of our faith and the confession of the church throughout all ages.

Seems Jesus had a different view..

KJO,

You read Scripture with a 21st century western Gentile mindset. Therefore you derive from the Text modern western Gentile ideas.

Is this fair to the Text when the authors did not write with 21st century western Gentile mindset. Sure God inspired them to write. But they wrote from a 1st century and before eastern Jewish mindset.

If we want to understand what the author was really saying. Shouldn't we read the Text they wrote with an ancient eastern Jewish mindset?

The ordained Chuckster writes,

"If we want to understand what the author was really saying. Shouldn't we read the Text they wrote with an ancient eastern Jewish mindset?" end quote.

Well GOOD GOLLY ALMIGHTY are we soooooo fortunate to have Chuckie boy in our midst! Just think of all the confused Christians out there that don't have the TRUE text of the "ancient eastern Jewish" Bible!!!???

Without the Priest Chuckie boy we would not know, he has the only copy or should I say the ORIGINAL text! I'm ashamed of myself now for reading from my corrupted version all my life! Buts it not too late!

Priest Chuckie boy, when is your "church" worship and study days so we can attend? Is it the tipical BAAL worship day of "sunday, or perhaps "saturnday/satyrday" on "saturday" on the PAGAN calendar. Maybe we could have it on VENUS day which is "friday" like some of the Muslims keep? You let me know, I will be there Chuckie!

Chuckk,

I am simply reading the scriptures that reveals the Diety of Christ and comparing them to mankinds interpretation . Most Christian branches of denominations believe in a Trinity with 9 denomination denying it and in my humble opinion denying Christ from Mormonism who think God has a flesh body AND therefore they can be gods as well (so does Paula White and Cleflo Dollar) to Jehovah's witnesses who say Jesus is not God to Armstorngism that says God is a" family of individuals" to Christadelphias who deny the divinity of Jesus to Scientology and the Unification church that denies the resurrection. The one that is close is Oneness pentecostals but I however do not believe tongues are for today as it was a sign for unbelieving Jews and not required for salvation today.

All I can say is...

Romans 3:4

God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

KJV - each time i read your posts, it seems you are scientific or historian oriented. You try so hard to interpret...we are are not allowed to interpret. The Bible is written so that the reader can understand simple answers. Calvinists and Egyptian theories are worthless to my point of view.

Chuckk quote:

End quote

Oh, yes, once upon a time then I discovered the hebrew roots movement which became fruitful in the sense of putting Y'shua into the context of the Jewish culture and age.

I have benefited from several denominations but eventually got tired of all the conflicts with scripture and quit it all to pick up my Bible and start reading it for myself.

Most churches do not compare scripture with scripture as they are under a time crunch when Paul preached all night and a man fell asleep and fell out a window once.

Acts 20:9

Eutychus Revived at Troas

…8Now there were many lamps in the upper room where we were gathered. 9And a certain young man named Eutychus, seated by the window, was sinking into a deep sleep as Paul talked on and on. When he was sound asleep, he fell from the third story and was picked up dead. 10But Paul went down, threw himself on the young man, and embraced him. “Do not be alarmed!” he said. “He is still alive!”…

That is what I HATE about Churches! You get a smudge of actual scripture and the rest is worship in tongues, singing, jumping, shouting (if your a pentecostal) or in the Catholic church it was a verse and then Apostles creed, passing the peace, singing and more singing and bowing on the kneeler , communion, etc.

Baptist and Non Denominational churches had more preaching but again but they are too worldly ...plus they fellowshiped more than devoted the service to actual scripture .

and the list goes on and on....

Give me CHRIST like PAUL if you want me in Church and it better feed me with the WORD , I can eat at home!!!

Teddyhug,

You are right when you write:

"Just think of all the confused Christians out there that don't" (read the text with an) "ancient eastern Jewish"( perspective).

There, I fixed it for you.

And it does sadden me just how confused modern Christians are.

I am not, nor have I ever, on this Forum advocated for the Hebrew roots movement.

Needsafriend

Seems I was typing my post when you posted first.

Yes, scripture interprets scripture and we need the Holy Spirits guidance to open them up.

There is progressive revelation to be gleaned from the scriptures in the sense of God revealing himself and his Will progressively and why I continue to press in like a Trojan horse and discover deep truths.

I should have said batting ram but trojan horse seemed more gentle as during the Trojan war the horse was given as a "gift" and allowed within the city gates of Troy while men inside it hid out and sieged the city at night.

You can learn alot from a Greek ninja.
