An unforgiveable sin?Posted : 25 Jun, 2009 09:43 AMBiblically it is calling what is good evil and evil good. Right after or before Jesus talked about blaspheming the Holy Spirit the pharisees stated that Jesus had an unclean spirit. Once you get to the point where you think that good is evil you are too far gone and there is no hope for you at salvation. Obviously we also know that rejecting Christ your entire life is also blaspheming the Holy Spirit. |

An unforgiveable sin?Posted : 25 Jun, 2009 02:29 PMI agree with everyone, and I'll add, if you had committed the unforgivable sin, you wouldn't know it or worry about it. Because you absolutely would no longer care. |

An unforgiveable sin?Posted : 29 Jun, 2009 12:47 AMhere's a quick answer from me, but keep in mind it's 3:40am right now but when it speaks of Blaspheming the holy spirit and such (and I wish I could look it up so that I could be sure of the context that Paul used this phrase in) but what comes to the top of head is that I think that Paul is talking to the hypocrites the ones that think that they can do whatever they want because God forgives them, that sort of thing, or the people like the Pharisees who instead of believing in God and up holding the Law, the upheld tradition and followed that instead of Gods word. |

An unforgiveable sin?Posted : 17 Jul, 2009 06:44 PMHmm...I don't know...the Bible really doesn't elaborate much on the subject, but I believe that while God does have infinite mercy, there comes a point where it's obvious YOU choose to resist His mercy at all costs...you grieve away the Holy Spirit. And I guess the whole point would be that this person would obviously never seek forgiveness again. The only one that has committed an unpardonable sin and is still alive would be satan... I'm not sure when that happened to satan or his angels, but if it didn't happen before...it happened at the cross. I like to think they had a chance to ask forgiveness before that, but I dunno... |
