Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
God's grace in Christ is not based on works or law.
Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under grace
Works and law are contrary to God's grace.

Amen, gnws! to your post on acts 13, I mean(lol). Thanks for your "graciousness!"
Ephesians 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, in which grace he has accepted us/graced us/shown us favor in the beloved.
7 In him we have redemption/deliverance through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace
God's work in us is all about grace, because it is all about Him.
It is bad enough trying to read the computer screen when you have bad sight, even with glasses. But for me, the lines run together the more print there is. I have the same problem at work. when there is a list of numbers that I have to deal with, I have to check and double check to make sure I got them right. and I guess I learn better when I take one or two verses at a time rather than a whole load of buckshot.
Messiah says Come follow me, He taught with few words at times, BUT to explain those words to His learners many words were needed. A few here think walls of scripture show they understand the Word of GOD Almighty.
Freed from serving sin, now a SERVANT to righteousness..
Romans 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Galatians 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.
I received an email asking about this. Is it possible to frustrate God's grace? Well, the passage says YES. How does that happen? The verse and the whole context of galatians indicates that we do that by bringing in the law or any other system of works. As long as we continue to mingle works or law with grace, it makes grace of no effect. It makes the death of Christ meaningless.
