We need to guard ourselves were not perfect. Let the love we have for Christ give a door you can use to talk to those that might not have asked Christ. Until you have talked to someone you wont know what it will feel like.
ROMANS 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
If we don't take up our cross; this next generation will believe in the Lie's that's told them. From there distorted history books all the way to our TV channels.
The most notable people might not have salvation. Even some going to church are looking and might not have it. Keep in mind a pastor is lead with love and not anger, we are lead to be the same way.
EPHESIANS 4:31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
If you're not saved today you can use this as a guide.
"Dear heavily Father I am sorry your Son took the punishment that I deserve. I ask you Christ that you please forgive me of all my sins. I thank you Lord for your wonderful grace and forgiveness.
Tell a pastor at a Christian Church that you have asked Christ and go to Sunday school you'll find fellowship to be a great help as you grow as a Christian.
I know that you mean well by your post. However, no one has ever been saved by saying a prayer and "asking Jesus". Search the scriptures and no where will you find anyone saying a prayer to be saved.
Also new converts should stay OUT of "Churches" as the majority are apostate. Neither should they go to Sunday school.

Psalm 51 (KJV)
51 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
14 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.
15 O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.
16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
18 Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.

Nowhere is these verses of the Word of GOD is there any mention of 'PRAYING' anything in order to being saved.
In the NT there is no "sinners prayer". The most commonly used one is "asking Jesus into your hearts". A person can pray a prayer every day for all their entire life and still not be saved unless there is actual repentance of sins and believing in Jesus.
If most Christians and ''Churches''are not apostate today then we aren't living in the last days.
But what does it say? "THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART "-- that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, 9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
Romans 10:10
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary
10:5-11 The self-condemned sinner need not perplex himself how this righteousness may be found. When we speak of looking upon Christ, and receiving, and feeding upon him, it is not Christ in heaven, nor Christ in the deep, that we mean; but Christ in the promise, Christ offered in the word. Justification by faith in Christ is a plain doctrine. It is brought before the mind and heart of every one, thus leaving him without excuse for unbelief. If a man confessed faith in Jesus, as the Lord and Saviour of lost sinners, and really believed in his heart that God had raised him from the dead, thus showing that he had accepted the atonement, he should be saved by the righteousness of Christ, imputed to him through faith. But no faith is justifying which is not powerful in sanctifying the heart, and regulating all its affections by the love of Christ. We must devote and give up to God our souls and our bodies: our souls in believing with the heart, and our bodies in confessing with the mouth. The believer shall never have cause to repent his confident trust in the Lord Jesus. Of such faith no sinner shall be ashamed before God; and he ought to glory in it before men.
Thank you for the Scripture, most people quote this as some sort of formula to be used in order to be saved.
Let us look into the Scripture you posted and see what GOD Almighty is actually saying.
Rom 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Most people use Romans 10:8-9 to justify their belief in the so called 'sinner' prayer, which cannot be found ANYWHERE in the REAL word of GOD.
We need to start Romans 10 with verse 10-14,to find the truth.
Remember 'A person cannot confuse to what they do not believe' concerning Messiah Yeshua, for 'confess' simply means to agree with GOD Almighty about someone or something which He says about.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Rom 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Rom 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Rom 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
'Church' people use formulas because the so called 'pastors' tell the people that stuff, because the so called 'pastors probably do not know the truth either.
Blessings
John 8:30 As He spoke these things, many believed into Him.
Joh 8:31 Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in Him, If you continue in My Word, you are truly My disciples.
John 8:32 And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
"'Church' people use formulas because there so called 'pastors' tell the people that stuff, because the so called 'pastors probably do not know the truth either."
My explanation was correct.
We are saved by grace through faith.
It was NOT a formula. It was Gods word.
It is NOT a sinners prayer!
The sinners prayer goes something like this:
Jesus come into my heart.
Hallelujah I am saved.
^^^^^^There is no evidence of true brokenness and repentance which comes from us seeing our wickedness without Christ.^^^^
For your consideration:
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Luke 13:3
No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.
Acts 3:19
Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out,
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
Acts 2:38
And Peter said to them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit
It seems you may be jaded towards the church and pastors. But not all are found in error. There are still biblically sound preachers preaching the whole word of God working diligently at getting truth out and making fishers of men!!
God is STILL on the throne.
In this last hour; most are in error in one way or another! What do you expect?
We are in the laodecian church age.
Do not assume that I have learned anything from a preacher in error. I DO KNOW the difference.
It is not profitable to make sweeping assumptions and generalizations.
9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
