Hello everyone:
Many times this year people will be told that Yeshua had been beaten with 39 stripes,yet that number may be wrong according to the Word of GOD.
We have heard that during the days of Rome,people which were crucified would be beaten according to the crimes committed.
As the person was being beaten if they confessed to the crime,the beating would not be as severe.
The beating would be up to 40 stripes,which meant death,most people would receive 39 stripes which meant mercy had been administered.
The beating was with the cat-o-nine tails which had pieces of glass,bone and metal entwined in each strip of the whip.
The beating would cover the back,sides and back side of the accused,each swipe of the whip would tear at the flesh;after a while the organs might be exposed,with blood and flesh flying in the air.
Messiah did not confess to ANY crimes,nor did He ask for the beating to be stopped.
The question is HOW many times was Yeshua whipped with the cat-o-nine tails.

Yes,i asked a question to find if others are paying attention to the Word of GOD OR are they just listening to what man is telling them.
39 stripes as told by the church is not correct,IF this is not correct,what else is being taught by the 'churches' that is not Biblically correct.
39 stripes in the times of Rome meant mercy,it would also indicate that the full extent of the punishment had not been achieved.
Messiah was not shown mercy,for the FULL judgement of GOD Almighty against my sin would not have been accomplished according to the Scriptures,if only 39 stripes had been administered.
Deu 25:1 If there is a contention between men, and they come to judgment, and they have been judged, and the righteous one is declared righteous, and the wrongdoer declared guilty;
Deu 25:2 then it shall be, if the wrongdoer is a son of stripes, the judge shall cause him to fall down. And one shall strike him before his face, enough for his wickedness, by number.
Deu 25:3 He may give him forty stripes; he shall not add more, lest, if he should exceed and beat him above these with many stripes, then your brother would be dishonored before your eyes.
Messiah had carried my sins to judgement,thus Yehsua had taken my place as the 'GUILTY ONE'.
(LITV) Then when Jesus took the vinegar, He said, It has been finished. And bowing His head, He delivered up the spirit.

I understand what you are saying George...However I've never ever come across a "Church" or "Congregation" that teachs Jesus took 39 strips...That number or occurance isn't recorded in the NT...
The scriptures you have quoted from Deuteronomy are about recalling history of the "israelites" and warning them about making more mistakes...also legal issues and not a Prophecy about Yahshua...Deuteronomy is Moses 3 emotional farewell speeches...The last of the Torah..."teachings"...xo

Here we have Paul recounting his adventures with being beating.
(LITV) Five times I received forty stripes minus one from the Jews.
The word minus in Greek actually means 'beside'.
Thus the Scripture would say;
Five times i received forty stripes beside one.

Your question is ~ " Question: How many stripes did Yesuha take when being Crucified "...Now you post Scripture about Paul ???...and 39 save one...So what is the Answer and Point George ??? What has been so wrongly translated and what differance does it make ???...
Yahshua was beatin beyond recognition obviously...and Obviously He was beatin "enough" to satisfy the Father...

Maybe the number of stripes means nothing to you,yet to ABBA it was a big deal.
People want milk toast and cookies not the real Word of GOD.
Deu_8:3 And He has humbled you, and caused you to hunger, and caused you to eat the manna, which you had not known, and your fathers had not known, in order to cause you to know that man shall not live by bread alone, but man shall live by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of Jehovah.

The account of Paul being beaten correlates to that of Messiah.
Paul had been beaten 5 times each time with 40 stripes,yet one of these times one more had been added.
(KJV) Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.

And what does 40 represent in the Scriptures,cold this be judgement.
And what did Yeshua take upon Himself,was it not the judgement of GOD?

*** Hi George...Pauls account is Pauls account of "him self" and does NOT correlate with Yahshua's scorging...
I will say this again in hopes that you understand the truth in this matter...
No where in Scripture is it mentioned How Many Times Yahshua was Scorged...Its just not their George...Its all speculation based on the Tradional Law 39 save 1 as to not kill the person...
So it is your Perspective and Opinion of how many times....I just don't believe it right to state 39 or 40 times for Yahshua when it is NOT Recorded in the Scriptures "about HIM"...that is adding to Word...
