Matthew 19:21-26
Jesus said to him, If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me. But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property. And Jesus said to His disciples, Truly I say to you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, Then who can be saved? And looking at them Jesus said to them, With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.
Mark 4:19
But the worries of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
Mark 8:36
For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?
1 Timothy 6:9-11
But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness.
James 5:1-6
Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries which are coming upon you. Your riches have rotted and your garments have become moth-eaten. Your gold and your silver have rusted; and their rust will be a witness against you and will consume your flesh like fire. It is in the last days that you have stored up your treasure! Behold, the pay of the laborers who mowed your fields, and which has been withheld by you, cries out against you; and the outcry of those who did the harvesting has reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth. You have lived luxuriously on the earth and led a life of wanton pleasure; you have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter. You have condemned and put to death the righteous man; he does not resist you.
Now PJ thats what the word has to say about it I have give specific scripture to back up what I have been saying can you do the same

This is an example of what you have complained at other's about not including the whole context.
Did you notice the disciples reaction to what Jesus, sure does not sound like poor men does it.
Elisha to make such a statement proves you have no idea what the bible says about prosperity so you better start studying.
Elisha Now you engaged Donna into your sin and you are now guilty of that. unbelief is unbelief.
Lk 21:29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my names sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
This is an example of a spiritual law.
Now I would behove you to find out what Jesus said about prosperity.
When you study out these two scriptures you will be started in the right direction and would get some idea what the gospel is.
It is your responsibility as it is every believer's responsibility to study the word that they would not be ashamed.
Ga 3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
Heb 4:2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

The disciples had that reaction because during that time it was thought that the more wealthy, who would give more alms, would have a better chance of getting into heaven.
Jesus dispelled that by saying it is IMPOSSIBLE for a rich person to "buy" his way into heaven. The disciples were shocked because if a right h person who gave so much and was "supposedly" blessed by God for it couldn't enter in, then who could?
@
As all of Scripture teaches, He told them it is always a work of God Himself for any to enter.

OK PJ now I am sure you know what the blessing all nations reieved through abraham was, that blessing ws Jesus Christ himself the Lord said all natons would be blessed thats Jesus he is the only blessing that has affected all nations
And me saying that fooling poor people into sending you a bunch of money because they think they are going to get twice that back or whatever gobeldygook they are telling them this week does not make me in unbelief or a sinner
I just explained to you tht I do understand prosperity it is YOUR HEART TOWARDS MONEY THAT MAKES MONEY EVIL PJ
Why do you insist on making me out to feel like just money itself is evil
these preachers that are taking money from the poor and buying moter cycles with it are evil and commiting sin PJ
and how about this if we take to they way you are stating it
you have participated in their sin because you are defending them
and as far as donna is concerned I did not ask her to say what she said I am not trying to prevoke you but rather get a straight answer from you that doesnt include you saying somethig like oh Elisha now you are in unbeliefe and Jesus isnt an opinion
your half whited answers and refusal to give any explanation abut what you are sdaying is driving me bananas
Which is it PJ? are you alwasy right? or is it possible that you are wrong sometimes?
I have never ever seen you admit to being wrong yet argue till your face turns blue when you are obviously wrong!
So either you are alwasy right or you are too proud and too blinded by the devils lies to admit when you are wrong so which is it?
are you never ever wrong or are you too proud to admit you may be wrong sometimes?
I amnot saying you are absolutly wrong this time
all you are wrong about is what you think I believe
I do believe that the Lord will prosper those tht elong to him
Ijust also believe that many have taken that spiritual truth and corupted others with it
their hearts become corrupt just like the scripture where the lord said the sares of this world and so forth are what caused the seeds not to grow! They had the word but it turned into corruption because money was more important to them
and if you love money so much that you are willing to take money from the poor in the name of God I am sorry but thts wicked
