We should follow the Ten Commandments, because the new covenant never did away with the law only fulfilled it. As far as the levitical feasts etc. I don't believe it is a requirement, however, I really have not read through them all. I do appreciate the roots of christianity which is based on Judiasm and the orthodox Jews do keep the levitical laws as well. I think they do so beyond what is necessary, because they have not accepted Messiah as their savior therefore, they are more legalistic. I pray for Jewish people to accept Jesus as their Messiah. They show great respect for the word of G-d and the law, but they are missing it on salvation.
*** Well...there are 10 Laws that Father GOD set in Stone...Exo 20:1-17 thats so we would always have them...and he also writes then in our hearts so we never forget them...Heb 8:8-10...and...Jesus said in ~ Mat 22:36-40
36~ Master, which [is] the great commandment in the law?
37~ Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38~ This is the first and great commandment.
39~ And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40~ On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
*** Can't get much Simpler than this...Be Blessed Yall...xo
I am starting to see a pattern, of you (agapeton) asking us a question or our opinion and then you seem to think you already know what we will say and you anticipate our answers then tell us every reason why we are wrong as if you knew what we would say!
My answer is this, we are not saved because we keep the law we keep the law because we are saved and as far as your earlier question about keeping the sabbath, well that was explained when it was said the sabbath was made for man not man for the sabbath..
the rest of the commandments yes we should keep them all each and every one, why wouldnt you? and on top of that Jesus didnt take the comandments away xpounded on the commandments about adultry and murder by saying you do not have to acutly commit the acts to be guilty of them!
Tha apostle paul i believe told us all to study to show ourself aproved it may have been someone else but anyway, we do realize dont we than when they say study and they were speaking to the first century church, all they had were the old testement scriptures to study! RiGHT?? so why do so many think we are not to pay attention to what the old testement says! I mean the old testement and the word of muth preacing of the gosplel was enough ofr the first church many many got saved when they did all they had was the old testement until they would get a letter from one of the apostles at that time they I am sure just took them a letters not scripture, so they studied the old testement and it says ALL scripture is profitable, they were speaking of the old testement as they didnt consider the letters to be scripture yet , so do i think we are to keep the ten comandemets? yes I do even the sabbath which i really dont think matters if its saturday or sunday as their first day of the week was sunday however our first day is monday so our sevent which what the word sabath means id sunday, now that being said we shouldt take into account what the Lord Jesus said about the sabath and remeber it is for us to rest and something God wanted for us. He wanted us to keep the sabbath for our own good as every other law they are all for our own good each and everyone they protect us personaly and the sabbath is no different if we didnt have at least one day to rest then we would be over worked and burn out it is aloso a day that should be set aside for the Lord that we focus on him . remebering the sabbath to keep it holy!
If God made the laws to protect us and the laws (ten commandements is what I am refering to) then He still wants to protect us and therefor we should keep the commandments, if we keep them we will live a happy life and God wants that for us it has never changed he has always loved us and he has alwasy wanted us to be safe and happy and free fromt he burdens and emotional pain that comes with sin! Its comman sence we have a sin nature so we will sin,o God cmade a way for our sins to be attoned for, now does that mean we should continue in sin? No it doesnt becasue even though our sins are forgiven us thjey still cause us the same pain and burdens as they did before Jesus was crucified for them! It makes perfecr sence to me! He comands us to not do the things that will cause us pain becasue us as humans are too fickle and too stupid to keep them on our own
so he made them commandments, what does us keeping any commandments proffit God?
Before i write,i just want to thank all of you which have been criticizing me throughout this past year, you really BRIGHTENED my time in this life, especially you PEEjay.
The 'LAW',hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Could it be POSSIBLE that the LAW is used of the HOLY SPIRIT to be bringing me to Yeshua.
Then after having accomplished this, i am no longer under the law..
What does the Word of YHWH say about this.
I had to use jest a whee bit of context for this.
Gal 3:1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
Gal 3:2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Gal 3:3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
Gal 3:4 Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.
Gal 3:5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Gal 3:6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
Gal 3:7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
Gal 3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
Gal 3:9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
Gal 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
Gal 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
Gal 3:12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
Gal 3:14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Gal 3:15 Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.
Gal 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
Gal 3:17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
Gal 3:18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
Gal 3:19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
Gal 3:20 Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.
Gal 3:21 Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.
Gal 3:22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
Gal 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
Gal 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Gal 3:25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
Gal 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Can we say Galatians chapter 3 verse3 24-26..
And we know that YHWH cannot lie.

Yes everyone,we are that FREE -Liberated in Yeshua, yet the so-called people teaching the sheeple will not tell them the truth../

Hey Agapeton,How are you enjoying your FREEDOM in Yeshua?

ME: Sister, The "ten commandments" are abolished according to the New Testament. Here is proof.
Epheshians 2:11-16 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; :12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the COVENANTSof promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off ARE MADE NIGH by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, WHO HAD MADE BOTH ONE, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having ABOLISHED IN HIS FLESH THE ENMITY, EVEN THE LAW OF COMMANDMENTS contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; :16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having SLAIN THE ENMITY thereby: 17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. 18 For THROUGH HIM we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
Romans 7:1-7 Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? 2 For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. 3 So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man. 4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. 5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. 6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
Galatians 3:23 23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. :24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
Colossians 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
All of 2 Corinthians chapter 31 Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you? 2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. 4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward; :5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; 6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. 7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: 8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? 9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. 10 For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. 11 For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious. 12 Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech: 13 And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ> 15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. 16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. 17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Before i write,i just want to thank all of you which have been criticizing me throughout this past year, you really BRIGHTENED my time in this life, especially you PEEjay.
George Jesus did not call it criticizing, he said to mark those that teach another doctrine.
Well judging from your history Agapeton your motive is not pure sp yes it does require your defintion.
ME: PJ, The question needs no explanation. It is pretty simple that a child can get it and the fact that others got it and you didn't should say a lot about your "carnality", brother.
By the way, if I am to go by "history" here then I can see that you are argumentative, evasive, assumptive, and insulting, brother. Should this be the case when one reads your words in topics that you have frequented and made?
