The Literal translation: All workers of power? 1Co 12:30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak languages? Youngs Literal Translation: are all powers? 1Co 12:30 have all gifts of healings? do all speak with tongues? In these few verses of THE WORDof GOD,Not each person has miracles,healing. Nor does EACH and EVERY BELIEVER have to speak in A TONGUE,in order to have recieved the Holy Spirit. Phil,when will you finally trust Yeshua to teach you His way, To give you grace to walk in the TRUTH of the Gospel. To UNITE your HEART,to fear and to revere His HOLY NAME. The purpose of speaking in tongues can be described in three ways; Spiritual edification in an individuals life. Perfect prayer for self and others. A sign of the living reality of Christ when accompanied with Interpretation of Tongues by the same individual within the body of Christ (like a fellowship, Church) to unbelievers. bless, this clears things up, michael chudzinski Post Reply

Verses the gift of tongues, that are as the spirit wills when he wills, it is not nothing new how satan trys to bring confusion to this topic, knowing he does not want believers getting the truth about receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost as separate from receiving Jesus. I believe you can come up with at least ten reasons why a believer should pray in tongues. Post Reply

For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit. But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their stengthening, encouragement and comfort. He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church...He who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues...In the church I would rather speak 5 intelligible words to instruct others then 10,000 words in a tongue." Whether the speaking of tongues has been discontinued by God because of its constant Satanic misuse is a Scriptural problem I am not qualified to answer. The things of the spirit and their manifestations, we cannot always explain. It's a matter of control. To be a part of the movement of the holy spirit, you have to relinquish control. Some people just cant do it and so, they put down others who can. Why would we want to serve a God who we can predict His movement? His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways. (thank you Lord) I better stop before I get emotional (:nahnah:) Post Reply
