Do you really have any rights?

now read the title again.

On this earth the law of the USA says we have rights.

Their is a bill of rights and civil rights.

it even says all men are created equal.

i used to agree with this view, but now feel differently.

Why?

Jesus said, you can not serve 2 masters. You will love the one and hate the other.

Freinds you were bought for a price.

Satan was your master and owner, you were his slave.

jesus died to set you free from being a slave to satan.

However, this makes you a slave to God who owns you.

So, if we are owned, do you have any rights?

I say No!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you not understand that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit?

Over the last 2 years being on this site I have read post that say we have certain rights, like choice, free will.

But, since we have been bought and are slaves to our master do we really have a choice------> any rights?

Once more I will say we have little or no choice. our owner is either God or satan. Who is your owner?

Free will is the "right" to make our own decisions. We have that. Like in the military, you can do what you want, but you will have consequences for your actions. Do they own you? Yes. But you decide what to do. God wants a relationship. Your commanding officer, for the most part, doesn't care about that. Satan owns you when you don't make the right decisions, so its not like he has to try hard. He just needs you to pick the 2nd best answer or lower. If it was multiple choice, let's say that's 3 outta 4, and a strong number "2" answer that's close to "1". Wow. Satan has good odds for us failing. But to say God "owns" us is true. But he doesn't control us.(I am in no way comparing a commanding officer to satan, sorry y'all)

Good morning, Dennis. Love You! You're right that we've been bought with a price. That price was the Blood of Jesus. I don't see myself as a slave, 'tho. A slave couldn't just walk away; but I can. I still have a choice. Serve God or our enemy? I have more freedom in Christ than I ever had as a sinner. Rights? I have plenty of them. One is the right to enter heaven at the end of this life on earth. Of course any rights I do have are given to me by the Master. I serve Him because I want to, not necessarily because I have to. I know that whom the SON sets free is free indeed. I understand what you're saying in your post. I just think I'm a servant (not a slave). There's a difference.

I agree Deborah...Jesus paid the Price for us and we are bought by His blood...we are not only His children but also His servents...Paul states he is a Bond Servant...does this mean bound to serve or bonded to serve ?...I dont know...I believe everyone has a Choice in everything they do hence the term Freewill...may we all choose rightly...xo

Hello dgrimater.

First i do not believe a person has his or her will free without Christ setting them free,

That is freedom in Spirit, soul and body.

Until Christ sets a person free, they are a slave to sin.

John 8:34 Jesus answered them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin .

Adam and Eve did not have free will,as much as they had a will that had not been tried.

Also in the Hebrew culture the differenc between a slave and a servant was.

Slaves worked the fields and had no business with the family.

Servants on the other hand were within the house, they were trusted with certain affairs of the household.

As far as having rights;

I would rather say that we have priviledges.

Rights can be understood as demands,"I demand my rights"

If I had gotten what i rightfully deserved i would be in the darkest part of the judgement of GOD.

Such as the darkness the Egyptians felt, when ABBA was making Himself known to both Israel, and Egypt.

One was given mercy, the other judgement, yet both went through the same experiences.

One was fully protected the other was not.

Aloha.

I pretty much agree with what others have said. And even though we do enjoy many rights in our Country, there are times I too would prefer the word "privilege" over "rights" as they can become abused. I've lived all but the last 4 years in California and I remember that as far as the DMV was concerned, driving is a privilege, not a right. Very understandable, given reckless and drunk drivers. However, I wouldn't want everything we enjoy today to be termed a privilege instead of a right as privileges are something that can be taken away, whereas we are protected by certain rights.

Jude, I looked at the definition of servant as Paul referred to himself. I think this defines best what he was meaning....

metaph., one who gives himself up to another's will, those whose service is used by Christ in extending and advancing his cause among men

I don't agree that this makes us slaves of Christ, as Dennis mentioned, but is the giving willingly of oneself over to the will of Christ.

I couldn't have said it any better than what Saved said, so I won't even try! I pretty much agree with the points made by everyone here.

How can a person have any rights when their very next breath in in the hand of God?

The truth shall set you free, what one does with this freedom says everything about them; in fact this is the judgement of a Christian. I think I am in agreement with Scripture when I say it is best to consider oneself a slave and let God consider you his child.

"How can a person have any rights when their very next breath in in the hand of God?"

You have the right to remain silent.

Seriously though, if God gives you breath for all or part of a day, a week, a month or whatever... during those moments you are still breathing, you still have rights that protect you and allow you certain things in this Country.

Two, I think I'll let God consider me His child and I'll consider myself His Child as well. If I'm a slave, I'm a freed slave. Lol
