The man is to be in charge of many things, but in order to be correct, he must be a Believer and Saved. If he is not, then the wife is following a NON-BELIEVER who does not understand how to do things correctly. If she is a Believer and tries to follow his directions, it makes her wrong in God's view. If she refuses to follow the unbelievers directions, it easily leads to him abusing her. That does not mean he hits her with a baseball bat...there are many forms of abuse, and name-calling or taking away privileges are included here. It is better to find out before marriage exactly what your soon-to-be spouse is. if he/she is not a Believer and follower of Christ, you should end the relationship and not get married. Post Reply
