Why it is important to have a Christian GF/BF or spouse?Posted : 5 Oct, 2007 03:36 AMWell let me speak from expierence,,,I have tried to do it my way and let me tell you, it does not work!! Having a Christian partner can only bring joy, peace and happiness for each other. Living by God's word is the only way to live. You can not make a believer out of any one, they have to have there heart truly touch by the Lord. And like the bible says: God created man for woman and woman for man He does not want us to be alone.....so let Him choose for us...Blessings to all of you waiting on Him for the right one!!!:prayingm: |

Why it is important to have a Christian GF/BF or spouse?Posted : 23 Oct, 2007 08:44 AMI agree with all the posts here. I was unevenly yoked and didn't even realize it! my husband played the part of a saved person well, but when I was truly saved (after our marriage) God opened my eyes to what it truly means and how we are supposed to act/talk. I realized that he could talk the talk (at times) but he didnt' walk the walk on an ongoing basis. Scripture talks about how important our words and actions are, and how one must support the other all the gime. If they don't mesh, then the world will look at it and assume they are hippocrytes. We can only look at what is being said and done on the outside, while only The Lord knows if they are truly saved in the heart. So stop, and look at how people act all the time and compare it to what they say & profess. What happens/ is said in darkness and the shadows the Lord will bring into the light. Nothing is hidden from Him. Be careful who you get involved with, even if they say they are saved. I thought I was saved for years, and didn't realize that Satan had twisted the Gospel so that my saving faith was in a prayer(a work) and not the saving blood of The Lord Jesus Christ. Once I understood the importance of His blood in the Redemptive work he did for us, then I was truly saved. "It is by GRACE we are saved through FAITH, not of WORKS least any man should boast." |

Why it is important to have a Christian GF/BF or spouse?Posted : 24 Oct, 2007 09:21 PMAmen, I did not even realize the uneven yoked thing until after I married 2nd husband and it came to me in church sermon.....a baptist church I was attending at the time, the real start of my seeking christ...b/c my husband at the time pretended he was a changed man...then after I married him, he told me I could not help at Bible school that summer b/c it took away my time from him, etc...etc...what I really learned: It's true, "ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS" also DO NOT IGNORE THE RED FLAGS...because it is actually the holy spirit speaking to you! If I had taken heed to what my heart (the holy spirit) was telling me everytime and was assertive (with Bible knowledge), b/c he was also very manipulative/persuasive, I would not have to pay all the consequences that happened after I married him.....none-the-less, knew that this precious, loving, foolish child was going to do that before I knew, b/c I still had so much to learn and would not be where I am today in my walk with Christ...but I do believe "3's a charm, but only in his timing, but then again, Christ is the true one! He made it clear to me when I went through my last divorce: "You need to re-establish you relationship with me first, not with another man." Ok....look forward to your reponses but I need to get to bed worked tonight and again tomorrow am and need extra rest b/c started up with cold symptoms, extra zzzzzz |

Why it is important to have a Christian GF/BF or spouse?Posted : 26 Oct, 2007 10:09 PMWhether or not someone is truly saved is only know by Jesus and them BUT as Jesus told Nicodemus in John 3:3 In reply Jesus declared, I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. - and with rebirth there must be a change in that person or there is no true salvation. |

Why it is important to have a Christian GF/BF or spouse?Posted : 5 Nov, 2007 12:04 AMThe reply from "HEAVENLY" was so perfect I thought I had written it...LOL! It really was identical to my own response. We are not to be unequally yolked. The problem with this is the many hypocrites in the world, like my ex-husband, who say they are saved and then follow satan's every whim. Very few will enter the kingdom of heaven; many who think they are saved are not, and when the time comes for you to stand before Him...He "knows you not". |

Why it is important to have a Christian GF/BF or spouse?Posted : 2 Dec, 2007 04:29 AMWe have to remember that we are living on God's time not our own. To often we (myself included) try to hurry things along and everything goes haywire. But giving it up to God, relinquishing TOTAL control to him means the we wait for his time to do what He wants when He wants....VERY VERY VERY hard for us. I pray that everyone sets thier clocks by God's clock and live in his time. |

Why it is important to have a Christian GF/BF or spouse?Posted : 6 Apr, 2008 12:54 PMI was married twice and got divorced twice. Both men said they were Christians, however, did not live according to the Word. I was even called a "religious fanatic" by Ex 2 because I would read the Bible all the time, and would want to discuss the Pastor's message after church. In the marriages, I would want to understand their perspective about God and neither spouse wanted to...I would assume that they really didn't have God in their heart and didn't read their Bible. |
