Christ is near the broken hearted

My heart is broken as i fell in love with a wonderfull Godly woman and it didn't work out. I still think about her and even dream about her. I thought it was Gods will but apparently it wasnt, because it did not come to pass. I still love her and her kids. But i know this God is near to the broken hearted and his grace is sufficient for me. I am taking in faith that He knows what is best for me. GOD IS GOOD!!!!!!!

2 Corinthians 1:3-7 (NIV)

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.

I have just been where you are, and the verse the always resounds in my mind is Romans 8:28 "For we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, those who were called according to His good purpose."

The man I met and fell in love with was thousands of miles away and we planned to marry when he retires in my country in about four months. Two years and a half of correspondence and daily phone calls kept us together through time and distance, but still, situations came and we found out we were not meant for each other. We ended the relationship amicably but it was really painful and devastating emotionally. We are still friends and I pray for him everyday, as a friend.

Looking for reasons, I found none.

Only the Word of God and the trust in His Divine Wisdom kept my inner peace intact. God knows our hearts and He will give the best.
