newdawn79 View Profile History	Hard pressed on every side Posted : 31 Jul, 2013 08:57 PM We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed. When you read this well known scripture and have been through non-stop pain in your life you think how could this thing be. I think commonly women and men both tend to hold on to the pain of our past. We want to keep it hidden and locked away in our hearts so that no good thing can ever get in and then carry it into future relationships with friends, lovers, and family. Burying the shame so deep inside that it disrupts everything we long for in our lives. I have been through it all. Starting at age 7 I was molested by a relative physically abused by my father and then continued this cycle of violence into my marriage by marrying a much older physically abusive man when I was 18. So what do you do when the very ones that were supposed to protect you hurt you the most? I found myself on a road to self-destruction until I met the MAN. His name is Jesus Christ. I think it is more common for people to find religion in the church. Religion brings the law and the law brings death. The true love of God brings life. Love that penetrates the darkest despair inside your soul. Love that shows you who you truly are in God's eyes, that you are of value and worth. Don't sale yourself short. What is a child of a king called? A princess. A prince. So what do you call a child of The King? Don't go searching for a relationship because you're desperate for love. Find the relationship that matters most, be healed of your past hurts, and then wait and see what God does. He will give you beauty for ashes. Just my 2 cents for what they're worth. Post Reply

You may fall many times in life but once you find Jesus He will always lift you up. And when He does lift you up,allow Him to lift you completely from your past. I'm glad that you are moving on. I am sure you find as I have that your greatest weakness has become your greatest strength when surrendered unto Christs Lordship. The treasure of God in our life comes from our need for salvation due to our sinfilled nature but also the greatest relationship with God comes as we relate with God in the terror that comes our way through sinfilled individuals.
