God speaks softly and is often hard to hear especially with the turmoil of our lives. Jonah 1: 3(b) "...he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord." Sometimes I find that God is speaking and I just don't like what hear and run away. Genisis 3:8 "Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden." Sometime we fear what the Lord is going to tell us so we hide. So even those in the Bible at times had a difficult time hearing God speak either because of fear, distraction, or not liking what he has to say. Not hearing God in times of trouble? Join the same group of Elijah, Jonah, and many other great prophets in the Bible who were in emotional turmoil while God was trying speaking. Its not that He's not there... but as shown above, even those in the Bible had their reasons for not hearing God at times. Post Reply

We often for get that the first commad given in the 10 is that we should have no other gods before God, right? We as people rarely look at the rebellion in our own hearts we would rather point our others sins, right? We as people rarely look at how stuburn we are and want our own ways. We as people think we have the answers without God, right? That we can determine right and wrong. Even though we all try to be good little christians we fail to realise the rebellion in our hearts. Our emotions and drives are given to us by God because we are made in His image. But the reality without God leading our emotions we are incapable to controll them on our own. God allows us to become crazy emotionally that we will come to the end of our selves and turn toward Him. God knows this and He knows at this moment He is able to pour out His love, grace and mercy upon us. That is when we humble our selves before Him. God desire relationship with us as people and when we are in emotional bondage He is the source of life. God is love. God is peace. God is hope. God is joy. God is satisfaction. All things good are found in who God is. Peace be with you dear ones. Post Reply
