putting together a place to let the free source poetry flow so sense i am first on the list ill give it a go see where this thing leads one may never know

This one doesn't really have a title yet i was thinking empty home at christmas

No presents under the tree

No one came here to sing

a single tear creeps into his eye

but he doesn't have the energy to cry

no laughter fills the halls of this home

once again this old man is left alone

how can his heart be filled with christmas cheer

when there are no friends or family to come near

so by the fire he will fall asleep

and try for all his sake not to weep

so remember with all you can

that not every christmas goes as planned

it may be a simple song or simply giving thanks

that can bring a smile to the lonely's face

so this year when out on the town

be a beacon to raise a frown

help some one who is in true need

and help plant a smile as a seed

for if all of us can but do this one glorious thing

all the world will surely sing

This is an older piece that I wrote years ago. Could explain how an old man could end up in that empty house...

Unaware of the distance

And gambling against the

resistance

A foolish man once held Gods

hand

Became much too cozy

With a little devil called nosy

Trying to steal the fact

But got caught in the act

Curiosity killed the cat

Reaching back for that

dependable hope

This time he ran out of rope.

How could he cope?

Is ever there justification for that

old mind

Even knowing it was a gamble

the whole time

He had too much faith in his roll

as his hot hand went cold

His routine was so well groomed

that he lost hearing in his 3rd ear,

Doomed.

The voice that once brought

smiles his way

Now seems a million miles away

In the midst of a wide open shame

With no room for escape

And no place to create

Helpless, and left to do nothing but

to hope for mercy in the

midst of the storm
