If you and I are friends, there is an expectancy that exists within our relationship. When we see each other or are apart, there is expectancy of being together, of and talking. That expectancy has no concrete definition; it is alive and dynamic and everything that emerges from our being together is a unique gift shared by no one else. But what happens if I change that expectancy to an expectationspoken or unspoken? Suddenly, law has entered into our relationship. You are now expected to perform in a way that meets my expectations. Our living friendship rapidly deteriorates into a dead thing with rules and requirements. It is no longer about you and me, but about what friends are supposed to do, or the responsibilities of a good friend. -W. P. Young

It sounds nice, but I don't really know how it lines up with verses like John 14:15 that says, "If you love me, you will keep my commandments." How can God not have expectations from us, yet expect us to keep his commandments?

Yes, when Jesus was asked the most important commandments to follow, Jesus told them (Matthew 22:37-40) On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophetsLove the Lord your God with all your heart, love your neighbor as yourself. These two commandments are to love. So this shows us how to love, not by nouns but by verbs, how to give, instead of holding up a big list of expectations. Enjoying the experience of learning to lovewhich is what makes All the law fulfilled in one wordeven in this, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. (Galations 5:14)

You're going to have to expand on that one. You lost me with the nouns and verbs bit.

You're welcome. Love you, guys!

Ok, I will try to explain myself, Tulip. Of course, this is just my pet theory here, one which is comprised of others pet theories, and books. lol

So were talking about verbs and nouns. One of Gods many names is I ama being verb. With Jesus we know how to live life, and experience love I believe its all about relationships, and not about institutions..both with God and with others.

On the other hand, the verse says, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us. So being saved is not about verbswhat we do. That gift was given to us. Not by our actions, right? (Acts 4:12) Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given to men, whereby we must be saved. I believe that aside from believing.Salvation is a gift given to us through the love and mercy of Jesus and God.

So, ok, God is a verb Buckminster Fuller said. And like P. Young said, I will take a verb over a noun anytime. (Verbs are) alive, dynamic, ever active, and moving. . Verbs such as confessing, repenting, living, loving, responding, growing, reaping, changing, sowing, running, dancing, singing, and on and on. He explains that you take a verb and turn it into something dead, hypothetically by replacing it with rules, and making it into a noun.

... I like what George Carlin said, When someone asks you, "A penny for your thoughts," and you put your two cents

in, what happens to the other penny?

Wow live, I am truly impressed!

That level of truth is quite a rarity, especially for one so young!

Hmmm....perhaps we are living in the end times.
