Marriage or Specifically Christian marriage?

So which do we really want? So many second marriages are done fairly quickly and am wondering if we just think we can't be alone. Which sounds like a spiritual problem to me, because it is a lack of faith in the Christ who said he would never leave us.. Anyway, reading a good book called "Finding your Perfect Mate" by H. Norman Wright and wanted to share this quote:

A Christian marriage is a total commitment of two people to the person of Jesus Christ and to one another. It is a commitment in which there is no holding back of anything. Marriage is a pledge of mutual fidelity in all areas. It is a partnership of mutal subordination and servanthood."

wow. I want that. Wondering if any of you have experienced that? (which would cut out all of us who are divorced..so I guess the question would apply only to widows/widowers)

Ok, I know I don't qualify because I am still single, but I have been fortunate enough to be around a few couples who demonstrate this. It helps to know where to set the bar. :)

no my dear it is noit abut being applied to those who have experienced death ie widows and widowers. This person is talking about what was GOD's intent. I am in a Marriage and Family Therapy Counselling program at Seminary. I am divorced and I KNOW that I know GOD shall find me the she of my rib,..so that as Counsellor I shall be married in the way HE INTENDED,..and not the way in which I BLEW it( soft smile).

We teach the same notions at Seminary

God's intents are found in Scripture.

In Genesis: they shall leave mother and father,..cleave unto each other and the two shall become one." In the Torah the man is called Ish,..and the Woman Isha,..see the implication for the closeness expected.

Then there is the notion of being made out of man,,..ya know the rib thingee which is my mantra(lol).

Check out on google the material oin Ezer Kenegdo.Eve was not just a help mate,..she was equal to man,..an EZER,..the Hebrew term for Help in times of trouble,..or Strength in times of trouble.

This was GOD's intent for the woman,..

lol,..I wish to be in a covenant relationship with one of those
