I'm a bit slow, women would probably say it's because I'm a man but yea. LOL. I'm the type of guy I have to really think about things a lot, I get cold feet about things and I have trust issues which I'm working on but yea. How do you really know that the person you're talking to or dating is the right one? Is it a feeling, do you just know, is it more of a thought than a feeling, what is it? It's not just the information that the person has some of similiar interest. I mean what all would you say has to be there for them to be the right one for you? I know love isn't an equation, it's more than that... Or do we ever really love someone? I've been told love is a choice but in one way or another love just seems like we depend on another for something. Post Reply

With sex, with age, with personal experiences. I can only tell you my experiences, which may or may not apply: It takes time. Face-to-face time. It takes being with that person in different circumstances and places (dinner, church, bible study, being annoyed with each other, movies, walking, arguing, driving, cooking, etc. etc.) Eventually, over several months, things will fall into place. There will usually be one or more "Oooo!" moments when he does or says something (99% of the time totally unaware he is doing so) that will make my heart flutter and my knees get weak and my brain do flip-flops. My family and friends will have met him more than once, and since they know me best and have known me longer than he has, they will have a good sense of whether he would be a good fit for me. And, like I said, after a few months (2-4, depending on how much face-to-face time we spend) things will fall into place. All this is assuming, of course, that I have been praying about it the whole time and seeking God's will. That part has to happen, also. And everyone is different as to how they "know" when they have heard from God, or are assured they are doing what is God's will for them. Hope that made sense?! Post Reply

PROVERBS SAYS EVEN A MAN WHO KEEPS HIS MOUTH CLOSED IS CONSIDERED WISE. FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT women would probably say it's because I'm a man but yea. LOL. I don't want to do what I want. What I want is to serve Him. We have an agreement. If I don't pay attention or get what He is saying, He says it again. He is very gentle, loving, and kind. If I am still being obtuse, then He slams every door, opens one window in the direction He wants me to go, smacks me over the head with a cast iron skillet and throws me through the window. My theory is that the cast iron skillet knocks some sense into my head. When the dust settles, everything suddenly becomes clear and I get it, then promise myself to pay more attention so that it doesn't have to happen like this again. It HURTS. However, it does keep me doing what I'm supposed to. So, now for you. How do you know what you are supposed to be doing? When you think you have found the girl, ask the one who actually knows, then listen. Not sure what your process is for seeking God's voice and understanding the response, but if it works, why mess with success? Post Reply

Posted : 8 Jan, 2011 09:18 AM we probably wouldnt know since we are all single :) (hopefully) I'm thinking things will fall into place when it's the Lord who brings two together and also you will have peace in your inner man like the other post said. This may sound cheesy but it is the truth, some things happen so deep inside that when the connection has happened on all levels in your soul you will know that you know. It is going to be by His Spirit that your soul will know that you know...and you will have peace that surpasses all understanding. Post Reply
